Airplane Audio Adapter Bluetooth

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great little Bluetooth adapter to connect to my audio system. Although my receiver has built-in Bluetooth, it is very finicky to connect to. This unit solved the problem. I like that it has an optical cable connector to make the connection to my receiver.

The Logitech Bluetooth Audio Adapter works right out of the box. It comes with a power supply , a mini-stereo to RCA cord. In my case I connected to the Aux-Input on an old Sony receiver. I paired it to my iPhone 4s and my macbook pro with no trouble. My daughter's macbook pro paired up right away but she tried to stream her iTunes and it would not go. However, her Spotify went fine. The range seemed acceptable. There were some artifacts (like digital hiccups) but I am not sure it was the device or the laptop.

It did everything you'd expect--allow you to charge and use your earbuds--but I'm not doing that every single day. So I wanted the Rockstar, but I thought I'd only use it in those rather rare cases, but this is where things changed for me. Turns out I'd rather travel with it then my iPhone headphone adapter. When on an airplane it works just great and doesn't take up much room in my earbud case, and normally I don't consider charging my phone while on an airplane, though I own a small USB battery. I bought this to use in my airplane to get video and audio of some of my flights. Had to mount the camera in an awkward place, at a difficult angle, and this mount performed perfectly, even on a four-hour, moderately turbulent flight. It attached to the windshield, just as it curved back toward the instrument panel, and it stuck solidly and resisted the pounding it got, with a 4.5 lb. camera attached (partially supported by the top of the instrument panel). Great solution to an impossible problem.

This microphone has great audio as long as the phone is in airplane mode. If it is not, any communication over the cellular antennas causes the ticking and distortion other reviewers have mentioned. When in airplane mode though, the audio is clean. I prefer to shoot video in airplane mode anyway so my recordings are not bothered by text messages or phone calls. So, this is no big deal for me. I love the mic and the build quality.

It was just what I was looking for. It was really great in the aisle of the airplane.

I use the Aluratek ABC02F Universal Bluetooth Audio Receiver and Transmitter connected to the Optical Audio output on my Sony TV. It pairs with a set of Sony Bluetooth earbuds to provide a separate channel for audio for my aging ears while the TV's audio continues to function independently for the rest of the family. The optical connection to the TV was simple and the ABC02F paired quickly and easily to the Sony Earbuds. The ABC02F is plugged into a USB port on the TV and is always on so the earbuds are reconnected within the time it takes to remove them from their charger/case and insert them into the ear.

I have always had great luck with and have been very satisfied with Logitech products. This Bluetooth Audio Adapter was very easy to set up and allowed me to choose multiple audio connections - depending on the device you want to connect to (RCA or 3.5mm connections). I would recommend this device to anyone wanting to upgrade an older audio system or speakers to Bluetooth connectivity.

You may want to consider a Bluetooth adapter for your headphones rather than this. They are harder to loose and more convenient.
