Airplay Dvd From Macbook Pro To Apple Tv

Purchased this specifically to watch DVD's on our MacBook Pro. Our old Macbook had a dvd drive built in. Living off grid; its nice not to have to go online in order to watch a movie. Works very well. Thank you.

Bought a MacBook Pro with USB-C ports and no vieeo output. Bought with it the Apple USB-C to HDMI adapter to drive my 4K TV that I use as a montor. The Apple product was total garbage with intermittent operation, tearing of the image, and useless to do work on. Since then I tried multiple other USB-C to HDMI adapters to run the TV in 4K resolution with similar results (although the worst what the one I bought at the Apple store.) This adapter works perfectly. Rock solid image at full 4K resolution. I highly recommend it to anyone that wants a 4K monitor for a very low price to work with their MacBook Pro that has the USB-C ports only. (The 4K TV is 55 inch which I bought for about $350 at Walmart on sale.)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] No one likes connecting to some jenky speaker using bluetooth, everyone likes the seamless interface and experience of interacting with Apple AirPlay especially if you have other Apple TV or AirPlay enabled devices in your house. This product serves the best purpose to connect dumb old stereo gear to a modern iPhone interface. Well worth it, however if you have even the slightest though of connecting video, I'd pay $80 more and jump to Apple TV 4K that gets you AirPlay and video.

Apple keeps doing it, for some reason apple products work best on apple products. I bought a few of these for my MacBook Pro, I have no complaints.

If you own an iMac or macbook that had an original cd/dvd, then you took the original cd/dvd out to upgrade the hard drive like I did, you will find the hard way that Apple crippled the Apple Superdrive so as not to work on such upgraded machines. Why? Who knows... I made the mistake of thinking the Apple superdrive would work on my upgraded iMac (27-inch, Mid 2011). Nope. So I returned it and bought this LG burner. It's something like $ less than the superdrive and oh by the way, IT WORKS. Now, if you have an iMac or macbook that did NOT come with a dvd/cd built in, the Apple SuperDrive WILL work on your computer. But heck, I'm hear to tell you, why spend the extra $ bucks? Just get this.

It was very hard to find a CD/DVD external burner for my MacBook 12 laptop. It tried several but all needed extra external power even though I used the Apple adapter. The Apple USB SuperDrive works just great. Problem solved.
