I use the A53M on a pair of classic AKG-414B-ULS studio condenser mikes that I purchased used. I tried AKG's current shock mount for the 414 series, and it simply did not provide as good shock isolation as the A53M. The small size is also a definite plus. 5 |

This is the 2nd pair of this headphone that I have purchased, and I even have a higher end AKG, but with the price, these can't be beat for quality and price 5 |

Before the HD 600 I was used to use an AKG K240, wich is not a great headphone, but is at least a regular one. After listening to the HD 600 I thought that the AKG was something like a consumer headphone. Maybe it's not the best sounding headphone, but it is so precise that a good recording sounds good, and a bad recording sounds bad. It does not make anything better than it is. If you are looking for a headphone for professional use (audio engeneering) I recommend it very much. If you listen to good recordings I recommend it very much. But... If you have chosen to listen to low quality mp3 audio I don'n recommend, because I think you're going to be disappointed. 5 |

When I first started my headphone journey over a dozen years ago, my first serious one was the K702, which I enjoyed foe several years before trying other company’s offerings, both open backed and closed models, and each brought its own pluses and minuses, but as time passed I gravitated to the AKG K712, which was a nice balance of improved, deeper bass and the huge, open and detailed I was craving. I enjoyed the 712 but then moved up to several different flagship headphones which resulted in me selling my K712. Several more years few by and I was still missing the AKG sound but wanted a more refined version. I hit the jackpot when I discovered the K812. I ordered these direct from the company, and after having throughly enjoyed them for more than a week, I feel that I finally found the flagship headphone sound I’ve been looking for. Everything sounds incredible. Classical and jazz really come to life. Vocals are spot on. I’ve also been using them instead of my stereo system for movies, and they really shine. Crystal clear dialogue and huge, crisp reproduction of the movie soundtracks and effects. These are great all rounders that really deliver the goods. Highly recommended. 5 |

I finally replaced my 11-year old AKG K 701 headphones with something newer - the Sennheiser HD600's. Actually, the HD600's hit the market before the now-discontinued K 701's but they appear to be a timeless design that still finds favor with studio pros and music lovers alike. I needed the higher impedance (300 ohms) of the HD600's as compared to the newer AKG K 712's - the replacement for the K 701's. The higher input impedance of the HD600's are a better match for my headphone amp which has a relatively high output impedance of 10 ohms. If you don't have a roughly 10-to-1 difference between the output and input impedance your system it could create some severe frequency response irregularities. I was hearing this with my old K 701's driven by my new headphone amp. The HD600's solve the problem, sound great and are very comfortable. I just hope they last as long as the AKG's... 5 |

I got this to create an adapter for my AKG K191-DJ headphone, so I could plug them into the Kanex AirBlue I also got from B&H. Thus plug is constructed to pro-level quality, not prosumer where they gouge you, but true pro-quality. ( I know because I have done professional AV production.) Making the cable was easy enough: I could have done it but I have a friend more versed in cable construction. So we got AKG's service manual and gutted an old sony cloth wrapped 3.5mm headphone cable for the other end, cut the cable down to a few inches and made it in no time. (3 solder joints, although very tiny, do not take long.) I am planning to buy another one for a Female version to try out other Bluetooth adapters that have a male 3.5mm plug, since we still have the female end of the 3.5mm sony cable. So, yes I would buy it again and recommend to a friend: top notch product! 5 |

Basically since AKG released this same version as the “Mark II” , the way I see it, you are getting a very high end, professional studio grade headphone for a fraction of what they used to charge!! I also own the updated version of these K 240’s and I can assure you, for the money, these original 240 AKG’s are an unreal value !! You will not be disappointed! Very true audio reproduction and super solid and professional build quality. The ONLY reason I would not recommend these is for use as a headphone for a drummer. These are semi-open design, so you do get some ambient room noise bleed-through. Long story short, incredibly accurate audio that does not color the sound so what you hear is basically what the end result will be. Pick up a couple at these prices! 5 |
