Got my first pair back in 1999 and they still sound amazing. Actually, probably better than ever. Also have a pair of the AKG K701's and while they do sound better, I prefer the K240's for long sessions due to comfort. They're so comfortable you forget you're wearing them whereas the K701 headphones dig into your scalp after a while and are heavier. These are amazing headphones, and for the price there's nothing even close to as good. Just don't expect to use them on a laptop or non-powered source, they take a bit of extra juice to get full sound from them. 5 |

I HAVE A HOME STUDIO AND THE AKG C414 XLII SETS AN EXAMPLE FOR RECORDING VOICES. IT HAS A BRIGHT END NOT SUITABLE FOR ALL INSTRUMENT RECORDINGS BUT IF YOU PLAN TO USE THIS MIC FOR VOCALS, BE SURE YOU HAVE CHOSEN THE BEST. THE APOLLO TWIN DUO PROVIDES ULTRA LOW LATENCY AND IN ADDITION TO THE UAD PLUGINS IT WORKS REALLY NICE. 5 |

So far I have only used these in a piano recording, but they is by far the best piano mics I have used. My prior experience with mic'ing a piano was with a AKG C414, which is a great and versatile mic. These are much better, at least for this purpose. 5 |

I've used lot's of recording mics. AKG cardoid, Yeti mic, and rode mics. This is the best mic I've ever used for podcasting. Great tone. Will be buying a second one soon. 5 |
