Akg Vs Sony 7506 Headphones

Sony MDR-7506 Headphones are one of the most prestigious headphones for audio production for a reason. Highs, mids, and lows are crystal clear and I'm able to wear these for hours without the ear pain. Could not recommend these headphones enough. 5 |

The Sony MDR-7506 headphones have great definition. Work great for mixing. 5 |

I needed to replace the ear pads on my Sony MDR-7506 headphones - this for the second time... I use them to monitor audio levels during production. The originals and previous replacements wore out quickly, leaving flakey black plastic bits all over my head, face and ears. NOT acceptable. I am trusting that Sheepskin leather will hold up much better. 5 |

I have now tried 4 different headphones: Sony MDR-7506, Beyer DT990, Sennheiser HD650, Shure SRH1840. My intent was to find headphones that I could mix with, sounded suitably neutral, and have a similar response to my Yamaha HS7s, and to my HiFi which I use as an audio reference (Naim 42/110, into Rogers Studio One speakers..) Here are my conclusions/comments 1. Sony 7506: great for tracking; decent response, good isolation(I have two pairs of these..) 2. Beyer DT990: too much bass plus a sibilant top end, and 'scooped' mids. I did not like the sound of these. Returned. 3. Senn HD650: better than the Beyers but still an over-emphasized bottom end. Nice for general listening through a good headphone amp, but not good for mixing. Returned. 4. Shure SRH1840: best of the bunch, and sound very similar to the HS7s in my home studio. Bass is tight and responsive, and seems faithful to the intent of the recording. Also sound pretty close to my 'reference' hi-fi system. These are keepers. I wish that they were made in the USA.. ! 5 |

I got this as a replacement for the adapter that came with my SONY MDR-7506 headphones. Fits perfectly. Buy it. 5 |

Nothing seems hyped with these headphones...very solid, less bright than the Sony MDR-7506...and seemingly more like what I hear in the room with reasonable speakers. Also, noise isolation is much better. There is a fair amount of handling noise passed to the ears from the cable though...but that is avoidable. Very glad I am mixing livestreams with these now. 5 |

I am really pleased with my new Sony MDR-7506 headphones. The sound is great. The headphones are comfortable. I don't know how they could be any better. 5 |

The great thing about this adapter is that it also worked on my Sony, AKG, and Beyerdynamic headphones, too. Economical way to resolve the lost adapter syndrome. 5 |

I've owned several other headphones including AKG K601, Sennheiser HD 598, Sony MDR-1A and Sony MDR-Z7, and in my opinion this pair of Z1R is the best so far for pop music, the sound is rich and well balanced, I just wanna listen to every song I have for once more. I really appreciate the use of the newly designed acoustic filter. However, I'm not happy with was the plastic housing, the metal housing used on the Z7 model seems to be much more durable and scratch-resisting. Also, the coating on the hanger is easy to wear off and get tin point too if you are not careful enough. These are well solved problems on the older Z7 and I don't know why Sony didn't adopt the merits from their old model. 5 |

You can't really go wrong with a pair of Sony headphones - and the MDR-7506 headphones are no exception. Full range of sound, very comfortable, over the ear fit, very sturdy and reliable, and they nicely fold and carry inside of the provided leather bag. Will absolutely be buying another pair as my studio expands. 5 |
