I purchased this as another option for capturing live guitar + vocals in intimate environments. Both the standard H6 X-Y mic and this sound great but in different ways and I now quite prefer the sound of this because 1) it creates a more intimate/present focus of the vocal and guitar, 2) you have better control of voc/guitar balance by judicious aiming of the mic, and 3) you can determine the mix of mid/side and therefore stereo spread in post production (like any mic/side mic). In contrast, I find the X-Y mic pleasant but the stereo field is a bit more disperse. Pleasant, but not the same as how the real world sounds if you're 6 feet in front of a performer.

This a very complex beast that I've just started playing with. It looks and feels like a pro camera and I have no doubt for many purposes it could serve as such. I have not gotten further with my evaluation because the camera comes with almost no documentation and while some might find the menu system intuitive, I do not. I have finally managed to get a copy of Alexander White's guide which just became available. Attesting to the complexity of this camera and it's versatility, The guide is 269 letter sized pages. I am a nature and wildlife photographer with some professional exposure and a battery DSLR bodies and pro lenses. Most of my work is printed in sizes up to 20" X 36". In spite of it's 1" sensor, I fully expect this camera to replace all the DSLR equipment for most of my purposes. Looking at a few exposures printed on a small non-pro printer, I,m impressed. This is a very expensive camera and I can not imagine that it does not come with reasonable documentation especially given it's complexity. I would not be happy without Alexander Whites Guide.

I use the Thumbs Up in conjunction with a Lim’s half case which has a front grip. The addition of the Thumbs Up improves the snugness, stability and comfort when holding the Q2 with one hand. Access to the surrounding button and control dial is not impaired.

I sold my 40 lim for buying fa-50, but after reading many reviews decided to buy 43 lim and I am more then satisfied.Comparing this lens with 40 lim the differences are obvious. 43lim gives fantastic colors, it is very sharp, especially from f/4 and has a nice bokeh. 40 lim is very good lens, but if you want the best quality of picture buy 43lim without any doubts. But nothing is perfect in this world: it has slower focus than 40 lim and my da*50-135, but I dont care.

Bought for use on a Q2 Lim's case with embedded Arca Swiss plate. Works perfectly on a mini tripod & is well engineered - no sharp edges anywhere!

No need to sell the farm for a great mic. This one recreates many of the classics without spending a fortune.
