Alienware 25 Gaming Monitor Specs

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] 34” G5 Odyssey Gaming Monitor replaced my Alienware 29 inch monitor, and I'm so glad that I did. The 34" G5 Odyssey has Deeper blacks and crisper picture than my old Alienware 25 gaming monitor. My games have never looked so good as on the 34"G5.

This monitor was chosen because of it's specs and all of the positive reviews on the B&H website. The 25 model was purchased due to space limitations. The primary reason for buying a better quality monitor is to edit photos in LR and Photoshop as a hobby. The contrast, brightness, and gamut are everything you would expect from a BenQ monitor. The extra surprise is the Display Pilot software that enables you to change settings rather than having to click on multiple buttons on the face of the monitor. I particularly like the Darkroom setting which is useful for getting pictures prepped for printing. I'm definitely in the camp with all the other reviewers who have given this monitor 5 stars.

So far this monitor has been great for gaming. It meets a lot of the specs for the level of gaming I do. My games look great, and it's hands down the nicest monitor I've had. It looks great. The bezel could be (more) sturdy. Shakes some. But not to bad unless I get a little crazy.

For gaming it's a fantastic monitor. The specs speak well on themselves. Though I would say the text legibility is awful and took awhile to make barrable.

I purchased this monitor for myself as a primary workstation display with some light gaming. The specs, color and picture on this thing is unbelievable. It's heavy duty and quality made and not some lightweight toy. This is an everyday driver and I'm hoping it holds up to years of abuse. The price was great and it arrived at my doorstep 22 hours after purchasing it at 4pm on a Thursday. I couldn't be happier with it and I wouldn't hesitate to buy another and recommend it and B&H to everyone! Happy with this monitor for good visuals and sufficient performance specs for more demanding applications like gaming. I actually got it to up my old screen resolution to reduce eye strain a little, which it seems to help a bit with for long sessions of focused working or gaming on my computer. It does occasionally briefly flicker black for a fraction of a second, but this isn't enough of an issue for me to even bother trying to investigate it... maybe once every two or three hours (there's a setting enabled by default that warns of flickering, but I haven't needed to try turning it off).

At 3440x1440 @144Hz I have to say this is the most beautiful sight I have seen in my 25+ years of gaming. This VX3418-2KPC monitor makes my last monitor look washed out and "grainy." The colors are vibrant and my games just look better. The stand that this monitor comes with is super heavy-duty and very wide...it is almost as wide as the monitor itself! 5 stars!

I never had a Dell Alienware keyboard, but this one has surprised me how sturdy and well built is. I am really enjoying it, specially for gaming.

I use it for Photoshop, premiere, and VR gaming. It's beautifully fast and precise. I use it on my Alienware m51. (I don't know how well it would function in older computers--it might be too much mouse power for some machines).
