Alienware 55 Inch Oled Monitor

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I was thinking of getting myself an Ultra wide gaming monitor but always thought the 49" G9 was too big that's when Samsung released this with the same panel as in the Alienware OLED monitor that is getting rave reviews. The difference between this and the Alienware monitor is that this one comes with Samsung OS and is easy to connect to my other Samsung ecosystem products. This monitor is perfect to run Dex on or even can be used as a TV. The OLED panel is brilliant and the movies and games pop on it. 5 |

This arm is amazing! I purchased two different ones before this to support my new Alienware OLED monitor. Those arms could not support the weight even on the highest tension. This arm at half tension easily supports the weight. You can tell this one is made with a higher quality than any off brand product. 5 |

Absolutely stunning monitor, coming from an Alienware ultra wide 3440 to 4k QD-Oled. What a difference 5 |

I recently purchased a Samsung 55-inch OLED Smart TV and love it. It is very high-quality and makes watching television shows and movies amazing. 5 |

I own 3 of these for a portable triple monitor setup. I'm tired of seeing only 1080p or 4K 15.6 inch monitors. 1080p isn't often enough. 4K is a little overkill and you might as well change the resolution on your desktop to 2.5K. Well, this is a native 2.5K display. Oh and it's 16:10 aspect ratio so it's actually 2560x1600. The extra height is glorious for working in Davinci Resolve, Blender, and any other program. It also has full size HDMI which is very rare for quality portable monitors. Don't buy the garbage you see floating around on Amazon when it comes to portable monitors. Buy the ASUS. ViewSonic also has some quality options. I like ViewSonic's 1080p OLED, the physical design is better but it's micro HDMI and well ... it could have been 2.5K. Overall ... as of 2024 this is literally the best portable IPS OLED monitor that's affordable you can buy. I used my xRite color calibration tool to calibrate each monitor to 400 nits and Rec709. You can confidently color grade on these. They have minimal back light bleed. ASUS has been releasing 2.5K 15.6 inch 16:10 (same resolution) OLED panels in some of their latest laptops, so we might see a new Zenscreen like this in 2025 as an OLED panel. However, you can't go wrong with a tried and true IPS panel. These are great. Go for it! 5 |

Shipping and delivery was excellent, I received the monitor only a day after purchase! The MSI MPG 271QRX is probably the best 27 inch 1440p QD-OLED monitor you can buy right now. It's cheaper than the competition right now, while having the same if not the best display. I chose this spec because I needed it for competitive shooters while still looking good for movie watching. The panel is color accurate while having best in class latency and up to 360hz. You also have a bevy of ports including full hdmi 2.1 and usb with 90w PD. It also has kvm which is a nice addition. QD-OLED is truly a game changer. I believe it's the superior technology out of all current OLED technologies. The colors just pop with the glossy coating. If you can buy and OLED monitor right now, this should be at the top of your list. Because of this monitor, I'm thinking of buying the 32 inch 4K version of this which is the MPG 321URX for single player games and more immersive movie watching. 5 |

This monitor is really amazing. I had a moment of this is what color looks like?! at first, similar to when I got higher end speakers and said this is what music sounds like?!. I learned a lot about WOLED (current LG tvs) vs true RGB OLED (this panel) and how JOLED makes this specific display. Prior I had a 27 inch HP (S2721QS) and the main use is a workstation PC working from home and occasional light gaming. While the monitor is way overkill for my use (I don't do content creation or color correction), I love it and have no regrets even when considering the steep price point. That's just how it is right now given the manufacturing of this size OLED hardly exists. Sadly this is not as bright as my HP but blows it away in everything else. The viewing angles are crisp and improved and while I previously thought 27 inches was perfect for a workstation, I am now sold on the 31.5 inch size. I have enabled dark mode on every application and website that I can and the colors are just electric and amazing. The stand is ugly at the base but still nicely functional, I have the LG mounted on an Ergotron HX Desk Monitor Arm and even though the LG is far below the weight minimum it works just fine. At first I was confused why the bezels are so large but I've realized it needs some form of casing and it benefits from the large casing when I grab the monitor and move/tilt it on the monitor arm. I could do without the USB hub integrated and my real only dislike of this monitor is the noise the settings menu navigator makes upon pressing. Yes OLED monitors will get less expensive but sadly it will take a lot more time, and by that time micro LED or QDOLED might be the successor. Again, the size, the pixel density, the experience using this in the evening, the HDR, it's all just gorgeous. 5 |

I use the EIZO CG2700X for printing high resolution 13x19 inch deep sky, solar and planetary photos with a Canon Pro9000 MarkII printer. After using several different monitors in the last 20 years I have found the EIZO to be the easiest to setup, having the best written and video documentation for color management and most importantly the most accurate soft proofing from monitor screen to finished print. The built in color calibration tool is fast, easy to use and performs flawlessly. I am extremely pleased with the purchase. Before purchasing the EIZO from B&H I had initially purchased the ASUS 31 inch OLED monitor from B&H a couple of weeks before. Long story short the ASUS monitor had a known hardware defect, according to a phone call placed to ASUS technical support. It was returned to B&H photo two weeks after purchase. In reviewing the EIZO monitor I find that a comparison with the recently purchased ASUS monitor to be the most relevant. The LED OLED display on the ASUS monitor was definitely more eye popping than the EIZO LED monitor, which would be expected . That being said, everything else about the EIZO monitor- Color calibration, ease of setup, detailed documentation, and most importantly everything works right out of the box without any known hardware issues simply leaves the ASUS monitor in its dust in my opinion. The EIZO monitor is definitely designed for professional use in a photographic printing environment, while the ASUS monitor, once the hardware issues are fixed, is designed for looking at stunning images on the screen that can’t be duplicated on photographic paper. In fact the screen display of the ASUS monitor convinced me that my next television is definitely going to be OLED. And last but not least, thank you B&H photo for the fabulous customer service that I’ve received over the years on every single purchase. 5 |
