Alienware Freesync Monitor G Sync Compatible

This is a surprisingly good monitor! I tried the ASUS VG245H (24'' monitor) and had also bought the ASUS VG248QG (24'' monitor), as the VG245H has Freesync only and the VG248QG was G-sync compatible as well. Since my graphics card plans changed and I didn't do as much research into G-sync compatible monitors, I bought the VG245H thinking the Freesync might work with the RTX 2060 KO. I don't think it did after I tested it, but I also discovered I felt the 24'' size was too big for my setup and just my personal preference. Tons of people online recommended buying at least a 24'' monitor, but it was too big for me sitting 3 feet away from the monitor on a small-ish desk. It was definitely hard to find a 21'' monitor that was G-sync compatible and also had decent reviews, a DisplayPort port, and was VESA mount compatible. Glad I found this monitor :) it looks great~ 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Samsung Odyssey G7 is excellent for gaming. It has a native 240Hz refresh rate, FreeSync support, and is compatible with NVIDIA's G-SYNC. The response time at its max refresh rate and 60Hz are excellent, resulting in minimal blur. Its narrow viewing angles make it less ideal for co-op gaming, but luckily, it displays deep blacks if you want to game in the dark. Excellent response time. Native FreeSync support and G-SYNC compatibility. Great contrast ratio. Incredibly low input lag 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Samsung OLED G8 is excellent for gaming. It can reach a 175Hz refresh rate, with the support of FreeSync variable refresh rate and G-SYNC compatibility. The lightning-quick response time makes for smooth motion handling. The curved screen provides an immersive gaming experience. The perfect contrast ratio is great for gaming in dark rooms, as blacks are deep and inky. On the other hand, blacks look purple in bright environments. It also has a low input lag, so gaming on this monitor is responsive. PROS Near-infinite contrast ratio. Buttery-smooth motion. FreeSync VRR support with G-SYNC compatibility. CONS Ambient light causes blacks to have a purple tint. Risk of burn-in with static elements. 5 |

I love this monitor! Even without out freesync etc. I think it performed better in the games I want to use it for (FPS) When I saw it didn’t have freesync I was a little concerned, but it performs incredibly. Color vibrancy really is nice once tuned. Dyac is nice but do note it does dim the screen quite a bit. I do think a 24’ is a lot better than a 27’ if your having problems deciding on your first monitor. Price point is perfect for a monitor with competitive capabilities! 5 |

Out of the box I was experiencing screen tearing, after enabling FreeSync from the monitor then on my AMD graphics card the picture quality improved dramatically. Works as advertised. 5 |

I was searching for a monitor to replace my aging HP ZR30w and wanted something similar in size but with much smaller bezels, true 4K resolution (1440p is too low for 32 IMHO), no-frills design, and FreeSync support, preferably with Low Framerate Compensation due to the 4K resolution. This monitor nails everything I was looking for and more. Not only does it have everything above, but it also has a fantastic stand (height/tilt/pivot/swivel), a hood you can optionally install to reduce glare, reduced blue-light mode to reduce eyestrain, and more. It also has little things like the ability to turn off the power-on LED and a great OSD design with full control. Oh, and it is perfectly calibrated from the factory to be considered a PRO monitor, it's primary use case which for me is just a bonus! Issues: Yes, it is not without quirks. One is a known issue when using a DisplayPort cable (which you must use to enable FreeSync) - basically, about once per day, the monitor will wink at you - blank out for about 1.5 seconds - and then come back on. Yes, this is weird, but since it only does it about once per day I can live with it, and I think a possible future firmware update might resolve it. It has a three-year warranty if it ever gets worse, so I will accept it given all the other virtues. The other flaw is related to long-term color bleeding at the edges that have been reported on this and other LG panels. I think it takes years for this to show up, and it isn't clear if it will affect all panels, but again with the warranty I'll take my chances - mine has zero bleed of any kind to my eyes. This monitor has an MSRP of over $1,000 which is high, and in the current market something around $750 is more appropriate, but at $569 is a tremendous value. There is a similar Dell for sale that is closer to $800 but does not have FreeSync! Go for this one! 5 |

Iv had this monitor for a few years and has always worked great. Have used it for gaming and work and never fails to impress. With the use of freesync you can improve the Hz. 5 |

This is a great 1440p monitor! Colors pop and the HDR is a plus. 180hz and GSync and FreeSync Premium is great for high framerates! 5 |

I only bought this monitor for the USB-C DisplayPort AltMode so that I can connect my work laptop to it and share my connected peripherals between my gaming desktop and my laptop. The display is great, I've never used HDR before but I am quite pleased with how everything looks. Wall-mounting was a breeze by adding some spacers between the mounting holes and the bracket. The only complaint I have is the G-Sync compatibility of the monitor. I have a GTX1080 but the monitor's adaptive sync kept causing the screen to go black for a few seconds randomly when playing games that caused the refresh rate to dip too low. It's no longer a problem with adaptive sync disabled but I hope this issue goes away when I pair this display with a RTX4090. However, since it's not a G-Sync Ultimate monitor, I do not really care about the G-Sync compatible feature much. Like other users, I would love to see a hotkey assignment for the USB Port Select as it is tedious to go through the menu each time I want to swap between my desktop and laptop but it's not a big issue for me. Overall, it's a great monitor for a niche group of people and it sure saves a lot of cabling versus using a KVM switch and a USB-C hub. 5 |
