Alienware M17X R3 Black Screen On External Monitor

Comparing this to the Alienware AW3225QF (which I tested for 3 weeks before getting this monitor), I find the colors are effectively the same after you find the right settings that appeal to you. I initially had some text clarity issues, but this was solved by running the monitor at 240Hz. For whatever reason, a bunch of features are turned off by default, so you need to turn them on (e.g. OLEDcare, VRR, CEC). Another thing to keep in mind - when you switch to full-screen and back, the monitor will black out for a few seconds. This is normal and a function of Nvidia drivers, not the monitor. Another caveat, as this is OLED, you cannot calibrate this with standard monitor calibration gear (think SpyderX). After turning everything on and playing with all the presets, I was able to find the ones I liked for different media. The monitor is amazing. Great color, perfect blacks, I almost think it's blacker than my black monitor bezels... 240Hz is buttery. 5 |

Delivered quickly. I upgraded my 250gb SSD in my Alienware 15 r3 to this 1tb ssd. Cloned it and it works great as my new boot drive. Highly recommend. 5 |

MSI MPG 321URX QD-OLED is the best computer monitor I have owned. The screen 32 inch screen size is perfect for my desktop setup. The build qualtiy of the mointor is very good. The picture quality is amazing due to the QD-OLED pannel. Color is extremely accurate and the black is true black! I have played a few games on it already and they look a lot better than my old LCD monitor! I like the OLED Care feature built in the mointor to reduce the risk of the pixel burn-in. The usb c port on the monitor with 90W PD is extremely useful for connecting my working laptop by using just one cable. Overall I am very satisfied with this monitor. PROS: - Accurate color. - Build in KVM switch. - 90W PD USB C. - LOW input lag. - OLED Care works for reducing burn-in risk. - Comes with a screen protector on the montior. CONS: - No displayport cable comes with the monitor. 5 |

I love this external monitor. The color is beautiful. High quality image that's very close to my 1DX Mkiii. You can add luts to it through the included 8 gb SD on the top. And comes with clear screen protector. You can change screens by sweeping or add them by pinching out (which I had to experiment to find out) Each screen can be a different preset or you can add different settings to each screen. And the touch functions are very responsive. After using this a few times, I can see why it's so expensive. It's like an iPad in functionality and external monitor in process. Has screw holes on the sides, bottom and back, but no top. But the screen can auto rotate if you want it upside down from the bottom screw. Uses two L batteries. One L lasts awhile. The one and only thing I would comment as being negative, this thing gets hot! Like a few degrees from being untouchable. Imagine being outside or on set without airflow, I don't understand how this thing doesn't catch fire. I love this thing. It's a great companion to my 1dx mkiii. I can't wait to use it more. I've made a few mistakes in the past which having a bigger screen will help with. Always improving. This is a good step forward. 5 |

In the entertainment business, I regularly have 3 to 5 Video meetings per day, so I began upgrading my a/v equipment. People mentioned a hissing sound from my laptop mic, so I ordered the Rode NT-USB Microphone. It's a great mic, but I wasn't happy with the plastic stand that came with it as I had to put it next to my laptop, which interfered with viewing my external monitor. So I ordered this stand to move the mic above the laptop screen. The stand is well built and much heavier than expected, which is good for stability. It raises the mic high enough to place the stand behind my laptop screen so it's not in the way of it or my external monitor. At the same time, I ordered the Auray Shockmount for Rode Podcast Mics and Mics with M20 Thread to hold the mic and eliminate vibration from the desk. Together with the stand, they work flawlessly. I've recently ordered the Auray RF-PBO-16 Premium Reflection Filter partly for background noise reduction, but also to counter balance the mic. 5 |

This is my first external monitor - always got iMacs before. At first I thought the calibration might be a little off compared to the integrated iMac screens but now my eyes seem to have adjusted. (I may try calibrating it eventually.) This is also my first larger screen and I am loving that! This unit seems like a good value for a dependable 4K screen. No issues so far with the new Mac Mini. 5 |

I use this next to an external monitor that is connected to a macbook pro. The stand is elegant and holds the computer screen at the proper level (although the stand is not adjustable). Highly recommend. 5 |

I had a monitor with an external web cam that I just could not get adjusted to suit me. The color always looked off or the screen too sharp. The ASUS BE24EQK provides a nice clear picture and adjusts quite nicely. It did require a driver download on my Dell computer. 5 |

This really propped up my laptop so that it was at a comfortable position for typing and seeing my screen. I do not have an external Monitor so wanted some space underneath for a keyboard if I did not want to use the laptop keyboard and this was perfect! I also was able to add an external USB hub underneath since space is ample under this and really cleared my limited desk space! Highly Recommend for any laptop brand! 5 |
