Alienware Monitor Downstream Usb Port Issue

I've only had it for a couple of weeks. I've only used the USB-C port. It's worked without issue. 5 |

I've done a lot of research on many Thunderbolt docks and hubs. Nearly every Thunderbolt hub is designed for laptops to dock to by putting both the downstream ports and the upstream port on the same side of the device. I have a desktop, and I do not want the upstream cable facing the outside. Enter this Thunderbolt hub, one of the very few hubs with ports laid out like a hub should have. The DC power input goes in the back, the upstream port goes in the side, and the users have a clean row of USB ports along the front to plug their devices into. One improvement I'd ask for is to move the upstream port to the back as well, and maybe allow for DC input from the computer itself using USB PD, and then relocate one of the downstream Thunderbolt ports in the back to the front. But given what else is on the market, this is about the best I could find for my desktop setup. 5 |

Update (October 2020): After the NetGear team contacted me over the issue I was experiencing, they strongly suggested that I should get Comcast to check my incoming line, as both the CM1000 and CM2000 were reporting that I had "Partial Service" in the upstream. And indeed, it turned out that Comcast had installed a filter on their end that prevented some of my upstream channels from working properly! I was told that they put in the filter after they observed some "ingress" noise coming from my house. This must have happened a while ago, and I was never contacted. In any case, no such noise was detectable anymore, and Comcast removed the filter. The CM2000 now successfully and reliably locks all 5 upstream channels, and no longer indicates "Partial Service". I am getting 1.2Gbps downstream and 42Mbps upstream, as I was hoping for for my 1Gbps/35Mbps plan with 20% overprovisioning. The CM2000 is a clear upgrade over the CM1000, and its improved UI actually helped me identify a Comcast-imposed limitation. Original review (September 2020): I bought this to replace a CM1000 in the hopes of capturing the 20% overprovisioning that Comcast does on their Gigabit plan —- that actually worked for the downstream, giving almost 1.2Gbps! However, logging in to the modem (192.168.100.1), it shows that it can only lock 2 out of 5 upstream channels, while the CM1000 locked all 5 without problems. Very strange, but that looks to be more severe issue than the increased downstream benefit. So back to the CM1000 I will go. 5 |

Doing exactly what I need which is run my Thunderbolt Monitor as a monitor, USB hub, Ethernet port, and USB soundcard to desktop speakers. No problems here in first 3 weeks. 5 |

No problems with this product. However, the only issue is that there’s only 1 USB-C port and I have my SSD plugged into the port. Would love a way to split it. 5 |

I had a color issue with the monitor that made it unusable. The port keys customer support was quick to respond, I assumed it was a hardware defect on the HDMI port but it ended up being a software phantom. They helped me fix it quickly and were obviously willing to warranty service the monitor if necessary. 10/10. Beyond this it is VERY bright, cutting through sunlight no problem. Also the wireless connect with my FX3 is super helpful. The form factor is also really nice having fairly small bezels and a really compact aluminum frame that does a good job of dissipating heat. Side note it feels really premium. No plastic on this bad boy other than the buttons which are very clicky and convenient. I highly recommend… especially given the company actually cares about their customers. I actually just bought their $250 7” monitor as a backup and it’s also good. Definitely punched above it’s price point. 5 |

This solves an issue that the monitor has, which is the omission of a DC port. I know that those are cost cutting decisions, and that also, by selling this, Atomos gets to make extra money from us, which is all irritating. Anyways, onto the battery eliminator, it fits tight (good), and the DC cable has a tight connection too (good again). Other than that there isn't much else to say, just that it is made of light and cheapish plastic. If you are looking for a way to power your Shinobi or Ninja V without batteries this is pretty much your only option. 5 |

I use this product to go from my tiny laptop to a larger monitor. The laptop only has 2 USB ports & a USC-B port so it's helpful not use 1 of my 2 USB ports. There's no software to download...very simple. This company was the only place i could find it. Other places either didn't carry it or were out of stock all the time...or way more expensive. 5 |
