Allen Heath Midi Controller Xone 1D

I bought this to store my Allen & Heath Xone:42 mixer (standard 12 mixer size) after my dumb self dropped the thing out of its original cardboard box onto the sidewalk face first on the way to a gig. Am I overcompensating a bit? Maybe. Do I regret this purchase? No. First off, the mixer fits perfectly once you pull out the bottom thin foam layer. No rattling around, which is more than can be said for most road cases. It's also very lightweight, but absolutely built like a tank. I have no concerns about the safety of my mixer. Simply put, you can't go wrong with this thing, or with Pelican in general.

Does what it's supposed to. Well-designed. What I would expect from Allen & Heath.

I've tried the 3 major brands that produce small mixers of this type and (in my opinion) this is the best (by far). The layout and color coding of the dials is the easiest to see while working quickly, the angled positioning of the mixer itself (as opposed to lying flat - as most others do) also makes it far easier to see and operate, the cabinet material (which seems like ABS plastic) is lighter and more durable than other mixers, and (most importantly) I can detect absolutely NO sound coloration when using this mixer. One especially nice feature of this mixer is that it has a PPL circuit (which you won't find on other small mixers) so that you can adjust your mix with headphones before sending it to the main outputs. I should note that the Main Outputs on this mixer are XLR connections - which may leave you without proper cable if you are use to 1/4" outputs (there is also no Control Room Outs - just Main). The only flaw I can mention is that the knobs are a bit close together and difficult to turn in order to do (on the fly) adjustments (such as creative panning and FX control)...however it is a very small mixer so I can't really fault Allen & Heath for that...some practice helps a great deal. I also own the FX model - which is exactly the same as this one - with the addition of an excellent bank of (professional) effects - with presets that increase intensities on some....however Allen & Heath (oddly) does not include the list of effects in their instuction guide (you have to download them from their site - or learn them by ear). The only other comment I have is that (I've found) Customer Service at Allen & Heath (in the UK) to be very poor - and they don't respond to technical questions (such as, "where can I get a list of the built in FX?") - but, if you live in the USA, their US distributor will immediately respond to any questions you have.

Used for live sound with Allen & Heath WZ4 and QSC 16 kW system. Clear and crisp, very controlable especially going into low note vocals. This is a new purchase. Will have to see how it performs a few more times.

Bought this for our Allen and Heath iLive R72. Knowing that the dimensions are different and that this item was made to be stretchy, I was convinced it would fit. It does and does so quite stylishly. While the corners are designed for something deeper, they accommodate the iLive's unique shape nicely leaving only the stretched corner seem visible within the otherwise black, slick and shiny cover.

High quality rack ears made specifically for the Allen & Heath CQ-20B mixer. Easy install, very stout. The CQ-20b is 5 tall sitting on a flat surface with the front angled up. These rack ears hold the unit tilted forward so the front face is perpendicular to the ground. That adds 2 to the height, so rack mounting the CQ-20b takes up 4 rack units. A little expensive but custom designed and well worth the investment, to me at least.

Works well to carry my Allen&Heath small mixer. Adequate padding all around. Good handle and shoulder strap. Useful pocket on front for cards and power bricks.

I bought this little light for a mixer Allen and Heath QU-16,it gooseneck so you can adjust whichever way of light you wanted,it's ambient light is better than directly on surfaces ,it provides more light than enough for this console mixer even in dark lit space. Especially it's made in USA,build for last as a tank.
