This TP-Link ER7206 router was purchased to replace an ancient D-Link DGL-4100 router that still worked but which no longer maintained full throughput and which didn't support IPv6. Both of these routers have built-in 4-port Ethernet switches. When it comes to Ethernet routers, my needs are quite simple and the ER7206 meets those needs perfectly. So far it seems to be performing flawlessly. The router is being fed by a cable modem (550 Mbps downstream and 22 Mbps upstream) and has a computer, color laser printer, smart TV, and Wi-Fi Access Point (AP) connected to it. The AP has a built-in 4-port switch to which a Blu-ray Disc player is connected. The router was directly connected to a computer for setup purposes and the process was straightforward. I did update the firmware, which is always a good idea since some fixes may be security related. If your needs are as simplistic as mine, then I highly recommend that you consider this product. 5 |

I had the NAS server for about a month. Out of the box it comes configured RAID 5. It boots up fast and the setup through mycloud.com is very fast and easy. The first thing it did was to updated the firmware. I had it up and running in a matter of minutes. A RAID 5 configuration gave me about 17.9TB of empty storage capacity. I connect to the server using 1Gb Ethernet switch and compatible cables. The writing and reading is about 10% faster than what I get from my fusion 7200RPM hard drive. I get on average 110MB/s speeds in both directions. Obviously, I'm limited by the Ethernet connection. So far I'm streaming just music from it. I have a Sonos system which was able to connect very quickly and reliably. I have not tried streaming movies, PLEX, etc. The server comes with several apps installed or available. I'm using Dropbox app to mirror the content and I'm struggling with Amazon S3 app. The issues are not related to PR4100, more related to Amazon services. After some help from the WD tech support, whom by the way responded within 24h with a lot of information, I was able to get the S3 going but Amazon has all kind of issues. The NAS comes with apps to host or develop your own website. I haven't tried it yet but it's very interesting. Very easy to create user accounts. The cherry on the cake is the cloud/remote access. You can access any file from a remote computer or mobile phone. On the phone you can play music or view pictures. Works very well and super fast. I'm very impressed by this feature. I was on a trip outside US and needed a Word file from the server, i downloaded it in a jiffy, edited and uploaded it back to the server without any hiccups. Of course, out of the box the cloud service is not enabled so you have to create accounts and enable the service. The server software is simple, and rather easy to use. I would give it a 9 out of 10. So far I went through 2 power failures. It recovered quickly and without issues, 5 |

Easy setup with the WEMO app and very easy to add to Amazon Alexa link. I particularly like the compact size as compared to the first generation Wemo wifi plugs. 5 |
