Works instantly when plugged into my Windows Laptop, Android Phone (Samsung A21) and my Amazon Fire 10 tablet. Tested with PC drawing/paint applications: Krita, Synfig Studio, andClip Studio (Free bonus after registration from Wacom). Also runs with MediBang Paint on Amazon Fire 10 to give me a cheap portable art studio! First thing first. I love this little player that came to replace my trusty but aging Onkyo DP-S1. The hardware is good. I like the decision to use Android as an OS; that adds a lot of flexibility to what you can do with the player. I won't list all the great features and rather concentrate on the shortcomings. Because of the OS, it takes some time for the player to start. Like an aged Android phone, which attests to the speed of the CPU. Once started, it's all good. Starting/stopping, especially stopping track can be laggy. Battery life is on the shorter side. I would say 3-4 hours, although I never really timed it. Some decisions on playlist creation and track shuffling are questionable, but it's a matter of taste and habit. The biggest deal for many is that, unlike the international/Japanese version, the US version of the player has a gain limiter. For that matter, I've ordered a Japanese version for almost the same price. Overall, this player is well worth the price. I am not so sure that would be the case with its older cousin. 5 |

Android OS will work if the OS is 5.0 or above. It will require an app. The company Samson suggests using opencamera as an app. as it supports video with audio and includes the drivers to work with Android 5 |
