In my opinion, you can't beat AMD processors for the money!!! AMD RYZEN for LIFE!!!!!

Although a bit older since AMD has already announced AM5 socket and the 7000 series processors which are even better. This is still a decent buy on sale for people on a budget looking for a well performing CPU that doesn't consume lots of power like its Intel counterparts.

AMD processors are the best processors that you can buy for the price. They are very dependable and are becoming more powerful than the Intel processors that are in the same generation. I built a powerhouse of a PC using this processor and couldn't be more satisfied.

I was unsure about these because they did not list AMD compatibility anywhere. However, I tested them and they hitting the speeds as advertised, and have improved my system drastically! The RGB is a cool feature.

In an attempt to balance a performance upgrade with keeping power consumption low, the 5600G and 5700G processors are excellent choices to go with. The only things you can't do with this or the other G-series processors are use ECC memory and PCIe 4.0 peripherals at full speed. You can use the PCIe 4.0 devices, but you just won't get the full speed out of them (NVMe SSD, for instance, will give you about 2X the theoretical limit of a 3.0 NVMe, 7000MB/s vs. 3500MB/s). Seriously, though, if you really need that kind of throughput, you probably need one of the Ryzen 9 chips to go with it. At 1080p, the 5700G does a decent job of gaming, at least with games like Minecraft and Terraria. Nobody in my household cares to play anything more intensive. For comparison, its graphics performance is about as good as a mid to high-end laptop from a few years ago. All the rest of what I throw at it, like video conversion and VM work, is handled with the greatest of ease. If you're building from scratch, you might find the new Alder Lake offerings give more bang for the buck but that's just the leap-frog nature of the industry. AMD did a good job a few years ago of leaping over Intel and they've been huffing and puffing to catch up and finally managed to leap over AMD with Alder Lake. Time will tell what kind of leap will follow. For those already on a B450 or X470 board, this upgrade is a slam-dunk.

Support for up to 64 GB Ram (Which I actually upgraded to), fast memory and high performance processors make these powerful desktop computers with very small footprints. Combine these features with Mac OS and they are a compelling buy. Only negative is bluetooth can be lost more easily than previous versions.

This is an all around great machine for travel. The new processors with quad cores, available with 16GB of memory and SSD options. I had a Macbook Air pre-retna that I loved, but it had seen its days. This was replaced by a Macbook. I really wanted to love the Macbook, it was so light and just the right size at 12 inches, but the passive cooling kept performance low even with the optional processors. The biggest problem with the Macbook (and my work supplied Macbook Pro) was the butterfly keyboard. I did not experience a failure (as many did), but the design really slowed my typing speed. With the new MacBook Air, the move back to the scissor design is so welcome. It feels so good typing, and my typing is accurate. The new Air's performance, screen and keyboard make it a winner for me. The only downside I have when compared to my old Macbook is the the slight increase in weight. Not a big deal, still a great travel machine and five stars in my book.

AMD has ways been my go-to because of price... I have only ever built 1 Intel system and it was awesome but EXTREMELY expensive compared to my AMD builds.... It's performance was decently better, but didn't really justify the cost (IMHO). The release of RYZEN CPUs (all generations) have been spectacular. This CPU, in general, is phenomenal. I'm coming from a 6th gen i7 and the difference is night and day. I did OC a little bit, but went back to stock because F@H didn't like it. I can run F@H on full, play COD:Warzone on one display and RDP into my work rig on the other (RX 5700xt) without a hiccup. AMD has really made a huge improvement and even with newer chipset drivers, I've seen greater performance. If you're on a budget, you can't go wrong with this guy... But.... The 10th gen it's are phenomenal as well and, now, comparatively priced. I recommend this CPU for budget workstation/mid-ranged gaming rig since the boards are significantly cheaper than on the Intel platform. AMD still has a long way to go, but they've made a huge step in the right direction and finally have a competitive stance against Intel.

AMD has finally, and fully, eclipsed Intel's performance in desktop PCs
