Amd Radeon Hd 7900 Series Video Card

When I had to replace the old video card for new Radeon RX 590 model in my wife’s 2012 MacPro, the up graded required a 1.4 DisplayPort to Apple Mini DisplayPort the adapter so that she could continue using her Apple 27-inch Cine-Display. Having done this exact conversion to my own MacPro with the same arrangement the year before, I found that StarTech brand adapter to be a good reliable avenue to go.

Just installed it will a AMD Ryzen 5 3600 CPU and Radeon rx 580 gpu. Haven’t had any issues and it has been running smoothly and fast. No complaints at all.

I upgraded from an AMD Radeon Pro WX 9100 to Radeon Pro VII. I can tell the difference right away, although my system has a few outdated parts now, this is an excellent step forward to upgrading my entire system.

Time to upgrade my old Radeon RX580. Still running well, except the newer games are being bottlenecked by the graphics card. Decided to go with the RX7900 GRE, and I am glad I did. Getting great frame rates and beautiful video rendering. The Gigabyte drivers are stable and run well. This is a big card. It is a tight fit and requires careful cable routing. A big power supply is recommended, a 750W or bigger. Very pleased with the upgrade. My newer games look so much better!

First graphics card upgrade in eight years. My old card (Radeon RX580) was creating a 54% bottleneck within my PC. Upgraded to a 3060 12g v2 and have seen a marked performance increase. Which is to be expected when making a three generation jump in graphics cards. No longer getting a bottleneck.

It's a memory card, it works. Was fine for general HD video capture.

Now that I have graduated from a Video8 to a Flash Card based HD Camcorder, I think I will be taking a lot more videos. The size of this unit makes it easy to haul around with you... it fits in the same backpack I use to carry my SLR camera in one of the lens pouches. Video is clear and the many configuration options is a plus. Indexing through the different video scenes is a breeze... no more FF or Rew the tape! Downloading the video to your computer is a snap and the SW that is provided, though basic, gets the job done. It creates a library that allows you to easily enjoy what you shot on your computer.

I’m not a gamer, just a photographer and fine art printer.  So, even with all the bad news and confusion re the Ryzen 9000 series, I decided to go ahead and replace my 7900 with a 9900X anyway.  I have an MSI MPG B650i EDGE WiFi motherboard in an open case with an ID-Cooling SE-207-XT air cooler to which I have attached a second fan.  The 7900 runs with DDR5-6000 memory, Game-Boost and the TDP elevated to 105W.  It pulls 142W running Cinebench R23 with a high temperature of 79C for a multi-core score of 27550.  When I replaced the 7900 with the 9900X, with the BIOS cleared except for EXPO, Cenibench R23 scored it at 32214 with a high temp of 81C.  That’s a 17% improvement, much better than I expected.  Think I’ll be keeping the 9900X and seeing how much I can wring out of it with a better cooler.  I have no intention of playing the core parking game.  Some good news re the 9000 series is overdue.  I appreciate that gaming drives the technology, but other users make up a large part of the marketplace, so it seems wrong for gaming to influence the whole picture.  Even though AMD fumbled the rollout, the 9900X is still a great CPU for non-gamers.
