I upgraded my 2017 MacBook Pro and it really seems it worth it. This new 2020 Macbook is very fast, has a much better battery and a totally new keyboard. As usual, Apple made a very good job! 5 |

I 'downgraded' from a top of the line 2017 15 Macbook Pro to this base model MacBook Air. My work consisted of programming and web browsing, and for those 2 use cases, this laptop actually performs better. Furthermore, the keyboard feels a lot better to type on than the previous generation, and shouldn't have any of the durability concerns. I also like getting the function keys back, the touch bar never did much for me. Lightweight, fast, and a great value. 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Anker MagGo is a good compromise between size and battery capacity. It doesn't feel too bulky when using your phone with the battery attached, even on a 12 Pro Max. The material Anker uses for the charger feels soft and smooth. The magnet is strong enough to fully support the weight of a 12 Pro Max and not drop it. The built-in kickstand is seamlessly integrated and never seems like it will pop open until you do. It also makes it much easier to use the phone while charging. By charging my 12 Pro Max, I was able to get an additional 70% battery life before the charger died. The Anker MagGo is a great alternative 5 |

I was struggling to get any sort of multicam editing done on Final Cut Pro X using a 2017 MacBook Pro. Though this was an investment, I decided to upgrade to this instead of an entirely new computer for now, and I'm super glad I did. The build quality, the performance, and the ease-of-use is second to none. The pelican-style case is a nice addition as well for when editing on the go happens. The most important question isn't whether or not to get this, but to decide what size best fits your workflow. For me the 2TB was sufficient as I only work on one project at a time. I could see upgrading to another larger one later if that changes. 5 |

I had a mid-2017 MacBook Pro 13 that was still in great condition (and thank you B&H/Phobio for a great recycle price!) but was coming to the end of Apple Care. I wanted to keep the touch bar (unlike the prevailing consensus I love it) and do not need the additional ports that are reportedly coming in the new MBPs this year with the M1x/M2 chips. The new keyboard is great, very good travel, the Escape key is back, but it is totally true that the performance and battery life are INCREDIBLE. Apps, especially Apple Apps like Safari, Mail, Calendar, and Music open instantaneously (one bounce on the Dock or less). I have not done any heavy-lifting like video processing or photo editing yet but this is a great machine that I expect will last me another three years. I highly recommend getting 16GB of RAM as Big Sur wants to run in 8GB of space! 5 |
