Aol Broadband High Speed Wireless Router

My second Orbi system and it is truly impressive! It makes my new high speed fiber broadband connection the fastest I've seen. Down and up speeds greater than 400Mbps. 5 |

I was replacing a 15 year old Netgear Firewall Router which had capped my broadband throughput at only 60MBps. With this router installed, I'm getting the full 200+ MBps that I'm paying for to my ISP. The setup is a bit complicated if you're not used to fiddling with router settings. There is a wizard with some non-intuitive presets to help with setup as there are many different options for how the router functions. I'm giving it 5 stars because of the speed, and the relatively low cost. 5 |

This is been by far the best router period, and I just dont mean due to the speed. the options & security features this thing has had me shakin my head for 30 minutes at least.. talk about fully customizable, WOW. I did 4 hrs of in-depth research into this router and the most common issue was the AiMesh system. seems many just couldn't get to resolved correctly. I on the other hand along with my son simply plugged it in and did NOT to any firmware updates, got into the settings to configure to our network and my speed just lit up. I have giga blast thru cox, but my older asus router we thought might be holding us back since the modem was received 1 gig downloads, but the router was only allowing 430 Mps and out wireless was a bit worse. Werll I wanted the speed that I was paying for. Granted this is a very pricey router BUT. once connected not only did our speed match that of the modem, but we gained the 6Ghz band. all my son downloaded was 1 small file having to do with windows 11 and that gave us 700Mps wireless thru 5Ghz band and a tad less thru 2.4Ghz band. our range grew by id say 30 feet in all directions with a full 5 bars. man how nice it is to have those speeds. I think people arent sure about their own talents when it comes to AiMesh, I could be very wrong. but at least for us. it was up and running in 15 minutes and we now see 970Mps+ consistently. so all in all it was worth the extra chunk of money.. 5 |

I will start by saying that my ISP is Vyve Broadband. I carried my rented cable modem along with my new Netgear DOCSIS 3.1 High Speed 32x8 Cable Modem (CM1000) out to the local Vyve Broadband office. They pulled up my account and removed the rented cable modem, the added my Netgear cable modem information that is required for activation. I changed my internet service to the 200 Mbps plan. After returning home I hooked up my new Netgear CM1000 cable modem, the cable to its input and a short CAT6 cable from the WAN connection to my Netgear router WAN port. I powered on the devices and the modem and router went to work, with various lights blinking. It took only about 5 minutes and the cable modem had set itself up completely and with the Netgear router. I logged in to the cable modem to have a look at the stats. I then went to a speed test sight which showed that my download was 211 Mbps and upload 20 Mbps. All of my PCs, router, switch and access point connect at 1000 Mbps instead of the 100 Mbps that it used to. Am I satisfied and happy with this purchase??? You better believe it. 5 |

Upgraded from 802.11ac router and wireless network was dramatically improved - both speed and reliability. Gigabit FiOS was previously bottle necked by old router but now getting much closer to advertised numbers. No longer having issues with mult computers accessing VPNs and/or simultaneous Zoom calls. Set-up took a few tries but now very reliable. Very happy with upgrade. 5 |

We have a n router, not an AC standard router, but, compared to the adapter built into our relatively new laptop, the wireless download speed increased from about 20 Mbps to 36. Our hard wired service from Comcast into the router is about 85-90 Mbps so there is speed loss in wireless, but it's much less with this adapter than the one that is built into our Dell laptop. Plus, if we ever buy a new router, (and possible upgrade our Comcast internet service), we may be able to take advantage of the higher AC band speed. 5 |

Performance wise, I have nothing against this router. It provides super fast wireless speed and wired speed. It also results in very low latency which gives me an edge in competitive, multi-player FPS games. However, I do have two issues with this router: 1. It is very expensive. I don't think it offers much more than GT-AXE16000 but costs almost twice as much. 2. The second 6GHz band is useless. Releasing the non-Pro dual 5GHz band model is better in my view. 5 |

I recently had my internet provider to increase my speed (from 150mbps download to 330mbps). It turned out that my old Wi-Fi card that I had on my PC couldn't quite handle the speed even though it was rated that it can. I bought this card out of curiosity just to see if it was the PC that was causing the bottleneck and not the card. Once I installed it, the download transfer rate just about doubled compared to the old card. In fact, the speed is about the same I'm getting if I had the network cable connected directly from the modem to the PC Ethernet port itself. Anyway, I would advise anyone to first check their wireless router or wireless modem/router to see what Wi-Fi standard it uses. If you still using an old modem/router, this card will only go as fast as that set up allows it to. 5 |

We bought this device on the strength of the Consumer Reports review, along with numerous others that consistently ranked this router very highly. It has been running for a couple of weeks now without any issues and have definitely noticed improved range and speed on the wireless signal as compared to our previous router (in some cases we are seeing equivalency in wireless speed with wired devices). In addition, the SRM management system and accompanying app are first class and allow you to easily see what is going on with your network. Finally, the SmartConnect functionality that steers the devices to 2.4 or 5GHz networks has made for a much simpler setup by only requiring a single SSID and allowing the router to do the work of deciding which band is best. Highly recommended! 5 |
