Apogee Duet Connect To Studio Monitors

I've used the apogee duet and the element 2/4 in the past and thought those tools did an incredible job. i loved the sturdiness of the element and the convenience of the duet but found both to have certain faults. the breakout cables for the duet were g-d awful and the cable would slip out sometimes if the unit was shifted. the duet itself felt hefty and great but the breakout cables made the unit kind of clunky and horrible. the satisfaction of the single rotary button kept me in the game though, i loved that thing. the element solved a lot of problems i had with the duet - it was REAL sturdy and the connections were rock solid, but something about express was lacking... the babyface is just the better version of both of these products...physically the unit is a d-mn brick and just feels premium as h-ck. the connections are great no wiggling or surprise slip-outs and the audio quality is truly a lot more noticable than anticipated. listening back to mixes i can really hear things my apogee products more or less missed? maybe colored? not sure but i feel more confident in the interface. everything about it is wonderful and i would recommend this product to anyone considering apogee or universal audio products (esp if they're not like SOLD on the in unit processing power)

I run these cables from my Apogee Duet to my Adam AX8 powered monitors and am very impressed with the improvement in sound quality in my system using Mogami cables even playing back songs from iTunes the improvement is sound quality is quite noticeable. You system is only as good as your weakest link so if you skimp on cables and connectors you want be hearing your system properly. PS B&H are fantastic to deal with I live in Australia and received all my cables in 5 days. very happy customer

these sound at least as good as my old Apogee Duet FireWire, are more versatile, and less expensive than any of their competitors. HIGHLY recommend SSL's 4K setting is especially to be recommended for folks whose other equipment (like mics) are not as groovy as they'd like

Really enjoying these new headphones. Use connected to my Apogee Duet to mix on my iMac and also listen to iTunes while working on other projects. Sound quality and price are great and will probably add a 2nd pair.

I had to update my Apogee Duet for my new Mac and didn't want to spent over $500. Found this little box and it does exactly the same function and it sounds great. I use it for music and video editing. Great price.

I was looking for a 2in 2out interface that was tiny and without the price tag of an Apogee Duet. Of course we're not talking about the same class of converters and preamps, but as an alternative playback device when you need a quality balanced output instead of the headphone jack of your computer, it's perfect. I use it as my travel interface when I'm installing and tuning pro audio sound systems and it works flawlessly!
