Apollo Pa Post Office Box

I used the for the office PA and the Boss said it sounded like a DJ at work. Very nice, great sound and easy hookup. If you never hooked up a speaker with a transformer you may need a little trial and error. But, it is still just 2 wires and tape off the rest. I will order more of these. 5 |

Very sturdy stand. Attached a boom arm & a Westcott Apollo 28? softbox with a speedlite. Stand so sturdy that I haven't even had the need to put sandbags on the legs. One draw back. Not air cushioned, so if you decided to drop down a section of the the stand it will obviously dropp down very quickly if you have something attached to the stand. FYI. B&H boxed this one terribly. The legs were hanging out of the box when I recieved it. I believe this product has no original box. 5 |

I'm learning how to use portable and studio lighting, and this is my second Westcott speed light modifier, after the Apollo Orb 43 I purchased previously. First of all, I'm surprised the Rapid Box is somehow more expensive than the Apollo Orb. Not significantly so, but enough to wonder how something that is obviously larger and uses more material - and, if you buy the kit, comes with a light stand - could possibly cost less to manufacture and deliver. It's not off-putting or something that detracts from the value of the Rapid Box. It's just something I wonder about. With that one negative point out of the way, I have to say how much I like this product. It's reasonably sturdy when fully deployed, and I appreciate how the diffusion panel is more of a slip-on sock, unlike the velcro attached diffuser of the Apollo Orb. I also love the bracket for the flash - also very sturdy and easily adjustable for different strobe lights. It's also reasonably small and light. I had no problem putting this on an arm above someone's head, using it as a beauty dish with the optional reflector disc (sold separately), and it fits into my bag alongside the umbrellas and collapsible reflectors I use. While I don't expect I'll get much use out of the nylon bag it comes with, it could be used as extra protection when you need it and could probably store a portable light stand with ease. Probably the most important aspect is the quality of the light it produces. I'm very happy with the results using this as a diffused light source or as a beauty dish (again, with the optional reflector). If you primarily use shoe-mounted flashes, this is certainly worth having in your bag of tricks. 5 |

I have an Apollo Medium soft box from Westcott which works great. I wanted to add a grid to allow more specific direction of the flash and this works like a charm. Good construction but with all grids, they can tear easily, so you need to be gentle when removing it from the soft box. 5 |

This is a really nice soft box kit. The Apollo can be used as an umbrella or, with the included diffuser attached, as a soft box. Using the supplied bracket kit it is very easy to attach the Apollo and my flash to the 8' stand. It is also very easy to move around and take down. I was very satisfied with the pictures I obtained using this kit. This is my first soft box. I believe that it is quite adequate for cats, dogs, and portraits. For full body shots, you might consider a larger soft box. 5 |

I have two of the plastic holders which are fine for regular umbrellas, but when it came to holding the 28 Apollo soft box at an angle they just weren't cutting it. This does the trick. 5 |

This is the second medium Apollo soft box that I have purchased. I like the first one and wanted two with grids to use for edge lighting. For the price you can't beat the quality and convienience of these soft boxes . My only wish is that there was another zipper on that could be used to reach in and turn the mounted speed light on and off. 5 |

Used with my Westcott Recessed Mega JS Apollo (50 x 50) soft box and Westcott Adjustable Shoe Mount Umbrella B to setup low profile lighting system for newborn photography. Works perfectly 5 |

Picked up the 11-24 at the Post Office; took few shots of the steering wheel; and drove right into the Talkeetna mountains. Having used fisheyes for year I thought I would know what to do with an 11mm rectilinear...but this lens is different. My instant favorite lens for off-trail Alaska landscapes. Image quality and sharpness are excellent. Distortion is very low. Makes incredible panoramas that don't look stretched out. Heavy...but it's also a 20, 17, 14,13 and 12mm! Once in my hands weight doesn't matter! Use the 11mm most but love the zoom! 5 |
