I HAVE USED BOSE ALTO AND HAVE AN LD SYSTEM WITH A 2 EIGHT INCH SUB,16 THREE INCH MIDS AND 2 HIGH FREQUENCY HORNS AND THIS SYSTEM WITH LESS SPEAKERS SOUNDS LOUD AND CLEAR AT ALL FREQUENCIES . Like that I can adjust it and that it is compact. Make sure you stay within the range on the ring, otherwise you'll get strange patterns in your shot. Couldn't use my lens hood with this attached though, so have to plan accordingly.

Like soft boxes? Make every light a soft box. I use this like a tent over a PVC tube frame when doing product photos. Using this product, I have a light tent big enough to shoot large items. Gives you a creative advantage for really big diffused light on your subject.
