Appalachian Dulcimer String Instruments

I use this mic to record string and wind (brass mostly) instruments.  The different patterns make it effective in a variety of spaces depending on whether you want to reject other sounds or include reflections.  Versatile and great sound quality.

This mic sounds very nice for vocals, plucked string instruments, and woodwind instruments (at least that's what I've tried it on). I highly recommend it!

I used velcro tape to stick this underneath a hammered dulcimer. Gives even amplification into my amplifier.

Used this on the Appalachian trail and loved it. Well made. Decided this one over the manfrotto. I usually prefer the clip lock style, but for hiking I wanted the twist lock so there were no clips to catch branches if I used it as a hiking stick briefly as well.

I have hiked the Appalachian Trail with it, summited Mont Blanc with it, been scuba diving in the Galapagos islands with it, and lived in Hawaii with it. This wallet holds what I need and holds up to the elements. I will NEVER use another wallet as long as these are available.

My wife uses her H4n to record and play back music her dulcimer group plays. She sits the unit on a tripod out in front of the group and can start and stop the record and play back functions without having to get up and leave her seat. This cord on this remote would not have been long enough by itself, but the extension cord it came with made it the perfect length for her need.

I use a pair of these mics for a hammer dulcimer and Irish (Uillean) bagpipes. For recording they are very good but very sensitive. Excellent sound reproduction without altering the tone of the instrument. I'll use them for a live performance in a couple of weeks.

A quick way to not string cables across the stage.
