Apple Airport Express Router

I am using this router in an Apple environment. Replaced the Express/Airport. Take your time when setting it up. Do not rush in to setup parental control, etc. Get it up/running, review the applications available, THEN make your modifications. I have kids so the parental control is nice as I can see what they are viewing as well as how long they are online. The power/range is far better than the Airport. The app interface is nice (iPad, iPhone, Google phone), for controlling access.

Replaced Apple AirPort Extreme and Express with this tri-band mesh system, and drastically improved our performance. After doing much research, this was the best price and best reviewed for what we were looking for: Tri-Band with the dedicated back haul, Wifi 6 capability, etc. Have a 4 bedroom 1870s farmhouse with outdoor spaces that needed the range and couldn't be happier.

I purchased unit from B&H as a replacement for the Apple Airport Express that was functioning but not without latency or connectivity issues. The Audioengine B-Fi was EXACTLY what I was looking for. Super responsive with great range. Setup was super easy as well!

I've been using the UAP-AC-Pro for a few weeks in a home setting, a replacement for an Apple Airport Express. The AC-Pro is one of two access points covering a city apartment with plaster/mesh walls. Performance (in a high-contention environment) and reliability have been excellent, and the setup while not always intuitive did not take long. The hardest aspect of this thing is deciding whether to leave the indicator LED on. I was able to configure things the way I like, with SSIDs assigned to separate radios (frequencies.) Both APs in the apartment are hard-wired into the network, there are no repeaters. Configuring my guest network was also easy; I am not using the Ubiquiti guest options, simply using a tagged VLAN for one of the SSIDs. Using the utility makes me want a fleet of Ubiquiti devices to manage. Our Apple devices (our only devices) have had no issues with the new AP, and an Airport Express (connected by Wi-Fi) used solely for music streaming in a nearby room seems to have fewer dropouts following the upgrade. The unit itself is incredibly light; placement is trivial since a couple small 3M strips attached to the mounting plate will hold it against a wall. The power injector (power adapter) helps here, since the heaviest part of the unit is actually separated by an ethernet cable. The center of the AP gets a bit warm. I'm happy with the AC-Pro, and probably won't buy anything but this in the future. This is my second purchase of Ubiquiti products, and both have been excellent. I'd recommend the AC-Pro whole-heartedly to anyone with the experience or network-geek interest to use the configuration utility.

Great replacement for Airport Express. Setup was a breeze in the Apple Home App, once I figured out where the device code was located on the device. I had received a competitors Airplay device at twice the cost. Very disappointed. Not Apple Home compliant and required using a proprietary app to set up. The Home App was looking for a QR Code that is not included with the device packaging.

This Synology router replaced an Apple AirPort Extreme and so far I am very pleased with the router. Love the Synology control panel and am already familiar with it considering my Synology Disk Station also uses the same control panel so it wasn't much of a learning curve. This router is an excellent addition to the existing Synology products in my home.

I replaced an Apple Airport Extreme router with this unit from Synology. I expected it to be easy to set up, and it was even easier than I'd hoped. The ease with which you can get information and make changes through the computer browser interface or the app is unparalleled. I even have an older laser printer that's attached via USB to this router, and even that was easy to set up and works great.

I purchased this as a replacement for my first generation Apple AirPort Extreme that had a failing fan. I did not need wireless in a router because my current home setup already has an independent solution. My only concern was speed. I have several test routers and none of them could deliver the maximum bandwidth that my ISP provides. After running the extremely easy setup it was obvious that speed was not an issue with this router. Even with traffic analysis enabled there is no speed, ram, or cpu issues. Best router for the money on the market.

When Apple discontinued the Airport Extreme I began looking for a replacement. I bought the RT2600ac earlier this year partially because of the announced mesh router solution (MR2200ac), partially because I already have other Synology equipment and partially because of the excellent Synology support. The two MR2200ac units arrived this week and work perfectly. Completely eliminated my historically weak signal areas due to shape and construction of house. Ive tracked device connections as I walked through the house and yard and the handoff between router points is seamless. Extremely pleased

Owning a small rancher (1500 sq ft) with a quantity of 802.xx devices (20 or more), a significant amount of electrical magnetic interference, and 75mb up/downstream Fios service, we use Verizon's modem but bypass their (wimpy) wireless router. We had been running an Apple airport extreme and airport express for the several past years, with marginal connectivity at the furthest ends of our home (we run 10 pieces of Sonos gear continuously throughout the house). We tried a newer 802.ac apple router a couple of years ago, but that too, didn't do the job. Apple, having announced it was going out of the router business a month or so ago, led us to other mesh based alternatives (and personal recommendations re: their commercial equipment), turning to Ubiquity for their home product (AmpliFi HD), just released. Along with the router, the bundle we purchased has two mesh extensions which we have plugged in midway and at the end of our rancher (the router being in our office at the other end). The unit, designed to cover 20k feet is, without question, overkill. But when our children, grandkids and sponsored midshipmen come over, we can be looking at an additional dozen 802.xx devices, and when everybody starts streaming, it can be rough riding. Without getting into the weeds, this handles everything thrown at it without a hiccup, delivering 10x the throughput our apple setup delivered (60+ mb/s v. 6mb/s) at the furthest distance from the router. The setup can be configured via your desktop or phone, with the one caveat we encountered requiring you to turn off your controlling device's VPN during configuration. We have yet to set up our guest network, but will do that shortly. In the interim, we went over to our neighbor's house, diagonally across the street, where we got a strong 4 bar signal! (yes, it has several security protocols). The package is not cheap, but if it lasts as long as our last setup, this should be good for many years.
