Apple Computer 27 Monitor

I got the 10 core and have had this around 2 weeks have my old apple 27" monitor working for duel setup. Runs as it should for the cost, I would expect nothing else then 5 stars.

I was replacing a 5K retina iMac Pro, so I was nervous about this, but a 27 monitor wasn't enough for my aging eyes anymore. I really wanted the other Apple brand 34 monitor, but we all know how expensive and old that technology is. And their other monitors are also 27, so Apple was out. After watching a lot of videos and reading reviews, I landed on this monitor as a companion to my new Mac Studio. While this monitor does not hold up to the Retina display quality, it is good enough. I don't mean that as a knock. I mean it's a high quality monitor that is what you need it to be. It doesn't output at Apple nit levels, but in my office (which has 6 curtained windows), I never used the Apple brightness over 1/3rd of what it could do. I have used this monitor at full brightness with the curtains pulled back, and it's more than enough. I'm torn on the matte finish of the display. On one hand, it has almost no glare, which is great! But I'm just used to the glossy/glassy coating on Apple which feels like a crystal clear image, where on this monitor, if your font is too small, you can start to see the pixel breakdown. But once you get everything configured properly, you won't want to go back. I got this monitor because I needed more space on the desktop (the virtual desktop I mean) and because my eyes are aging or degrading (I have double vision and other undiagnosed eye problems, so I'm not the average user). After switching to this monitor, I have less strain on my eyes. I don't know if it is due to the larger screen (I am using about the same font size though) or was due to the glossy screen I was using before. As far as quality, you can find plenty of reviews on the color gamut and quality. I'm no expert, but the image clarity and color space appears to be great. I don't notice any washout or bright spots on the display. If you pair this with a Mac studio, you'll be very happy.

My 27 2017 iMac needed replacing. Apple no longer makes a 27 iMac so I purchased the new M1 Mac Studio. That meant I needed a new monitor as well. I almost ordered the Mac 27 studio monitor. You know, the same 5K monitor that was on my old iMac. But then I started my research and discovered EIZO had started making a more moderately priced 27 display. For only around $100 or so more money than the Apple screen I now have an incredible, color accurate, 4K EIZO ColorEdge CS2740. I have no regrets at all. It was plug and play from the start. I did a manual calibration with my iStudio gear and marvel at the accuracy. I don't miss the 5K slick screen at all. I bought this monitor because I'm a photographer and color accuracy is important. One caveat; if you need a built in camera and speakers go elsewhere. EIZO is known for color accuracy not Zoom meetings. I have an old Bose computer speaker system that still works and it plugged right in to the Mac Studio. If you need the best color rendition you can get for under $2000, this monitor is a great choice.

Like it a lot. This replaces an (Apple-sold) 27 LG monitor, that simply went dead. The 27 size is just right for me, with limited desk space. Don't really need 30+ for the work I do. I can see detail in my landscape images that I didn't get with the LG. One nitpick: it would be nice if Apple also supplied an HDMI--USB-C cable to plug into the MacBook Pro's HDMI port, thus keeping all USB-C ports available.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm a hobbyist photographer/videographer (I sell products but it's not my full time job) and this monitor has been excellent so far for editing. For the past several years my setup has been three 27" QHD (2K) monitors, but I recently got into drone photography and decided to replace one of the monitors with something bigger to help with editing the larger landscape photos (it has helped). I also recently built a new computer and wanted to get a 4K monitor to take advantage of the upgraded video card (that was more of a "want" than a "need" but it was definitely worth it). As for gaming, I'm way too old to be hardcore lol. For the games I do play - WOW, (non-hardcore) MOBA, strategy/simulations, etc - this monitor is a huge upgrade from a 27" QHD and delivers excellent performance. The monitor arrived well packaged with no dead pixels or any other problems. The stand isn't anything fancy but it serves its purpose - height & angle adjustability more than meet my needs (I'll probably eventually get an arm and mount it like my other 2 monitors to free up some desk space). There were some cables in the box but my desk is a little distance from my computer so I ordered a longer cable (Cable Matters DP 1.4, 16 feet) for 20 bucks and it works fine. The monitor's color gamut and brightness are great for my needs and it calibrated easily using my Spyder. I haven't used the speakers. If you need more than a billion colors, built-in hardware color calibration or an insane refresh rate, this monitor isn't for you - you'll either need to get a smaller monitor pay a lot more. But for general use, this is great monitor for the price! I've had it for 2 weeks and am very happy with the purchase.

I honestly didn't comprehend how large this screen was when I bought it, but 27 inches for a computer monitor is enough monitor for anyone doing normal computer things or working from home. I would certainly buy this product again, and had originally planned on buying a second for a two monitor set up, but the size of the monitor is already big enough for me to have two documents open at one time, so no need.

This is my third LG 27" monitor. I have two others that are used primarily as computer monitors but also for streaming news video. They are perfect for this. This last one is mostly for streaming video. The resolution is very good and they are lightweight and quite convenient to move around.

I previously had a 27” Dell monitor on my work computer that cost me around $700 and was 1440p. I was a little disappointed with it. It had a noticeable dot pattern at certain viewing distances. Almost like a screen door effect. It also wasn’t uniform in color. If you put up a white image it would have a pinkish hue on the right side of the screen and fade into a more neutral tone on the left. This monitor on the other hand looks great and is very uniform. I can’t see any variation in color. The Stand is top notch and the frame fit and finish is good. The controls are fantastic. Couldn’t be happier. I plan to buy a second for my personal computer.

I recently picked up the LG 27 ULTRAGEAR™ QHD monitor, and it's been a revelation for my gaming and everyday computer use. The difference the 240Hz refresh rate makes in smoothness is amazing—everything from scrolling through web pages to moving windows around feels more fluid. Movies and games look incredibly sharp. It's not the cheapest monitor out there, but considering how much it's improved my daily computer experience, I'd say it's been a fantastic investment.
