I tried a 10 core with base everything else and it was a lemon. Very fast processing, but not stable at all. Apple let me trade that in for a top of the line i9. I thought 6 cores would work... Nope - Throttled before and after the update to around 2.2-2.5. This is an incredible machine. I just really hate Apples crazy price gouging when it comes to storage upgrades. I got 2 SanDisk Extreme SSDs here for $530 each so I have 1TB at 3000 mb/s and 4TB 550 mb/s... for a quarter of the price Apple charges. 5 |

It seems that Murphy's Law applies to buying Apple products. Whenever I've bought an iPod, iPad or macbook and not purchased Applecare, that is when I've needed it (after my warranty has run out). Conversely, I generally don't need Applecare if I've purchased it, which means it always hurts to actually buy it. B&H sell the genuine product at a significantly reduced price than Apple or anyone else charges for it, making it a lot more palatable to buy. 5 |
