Apple Computer Power Plug

Whats not to like, plug it in and away you go. It's from Apple, what else can I say.

Somewhere along the line, Apple figured out something that many other cable manufacturers haven't learned namely, that cables should be springy, not easily bendable. Cables should NEVER be folded or wrapped tightly with sharp bends. If you want your cables to last, they should be coiled into a circle when you store them, and that's easy to do when the cable is springy. Most of Apple's cables are springy these days, and this power adapter extension is no exception. I bought three of them, and I placed them everywhere I'm likely to plug in a power adapter. In that way, the power adapters don't remain plugged in (consuming current, even when they're not in use), and I just pop the duckhead end of the cable onto whatever power adapter I'm carrying with my device...iPad, iPod, or MacBook Pro. Both the duckhead connector end and the AC plug end have good strain relief. If you take care of this cable, it should last a lifetime.

I've been an Apple user for the past 7 years and had Apple Care on every computer. Because Apple has a few quirks with their computers (faulty disc drives, fragile power cables) it's always well worth it. On one laptop I had to replace the power cable 4 times, and the Apple Care paid for itself with those replacements. If you live near an Apple Store this is a no brainer.

No Charger needed. Just plug it into the wall with a computer power cord (not included). Works fine. I use it to power Ikan Video lights.

This cart was easy to assemble, and the onboard power strip is very convenient, as we always have to plug in both the computer and projector. To adjust it you have to take out four bolts, so it's not a super fast or convenient adjustment, but since we don't need to adjust it frequently, it works great for us.

Simply plug in the power cord, connect to the computer via the supplied USB cord and start copying files. It's just that simple. I copied more than 1TB of photo files, numerous videos (including the movie Princess Bride) and and an iTunes library with more than 30,000 songs, along with a variety of other desktop files. The WD 12TB Elements is now only about 1/4 full. It's perfect for large file storage. I also have a WD 5TB Passport hard drive as a secondary back-up for photos and music. I take the Passport with me when travelling to upload my photos.

I needed a 90 degree plug because my computer power tree kept getting unplugged when people knoched into it. This does the job and keeps the plug nice a compact against the wall. Feels solidly built.
