I use a Presonus Firestudio Project, which uses a Firewire connection, in my home studio. Of course, Firewire is a dead standard but I had seen that Apple had a converter to go from Firewire to Thunderbolt, so when I ordered my ASUS Republic of Gamers computer from B&H of course I ordered the Apple converter too. Unfortunately what I didn't realize was that the Thunderbolt end was the older, larger connector, and the computer had a USB-C/Thunderbolt connector that's a different size. So I still couldn't make the last mile. I ordered this converter, and it works perfectly. A couple of words of caution, though. It didn't work right away, not because of the converter but because of quirks in the Presonus hardware and their Studio One software. If you're looking at this for the same reason, be sure to remember to install Universal Control off the disk that came with the hardware first. Then download the update. It might take a few restarts to get the computer to see the Firestudio Project and get the light to turn blue. Once you've done that, if you're using Studio One and it doesn't show up automatically you can manually select it as the audio device. Then you'll be good to go. This converter has been a lifesaver. I can now record again, and I don't have to try to talk my wife into letting me buy a new audio interface!

At my church, we have a computer running MediaShout and outputting HDMI to our video switcher for broadcast live stream. The stream gets converted from HDMI to SDI in order to connect to our BlackMagic Design Video Switcher. We had been using a cheap $60 converter but had problems with video flickering whenever it included a picture or video. We replaced the converter with a Decimator and it solved the problem. Going through its scaler handled any problem we could throw at it. No more flickering video. This product works.

Needed this converter cable to integrate a computer into our newly installed video system. Went to the B&H website and found exactly what we needed. The cable arrived in lightning speed and got everything up and running. Couldn't be more pleased.

Everything I need in power right now with a little room to grow into the future. I upgraded to 12GB of RAM and my machine is purring. This new Apple Mac Pro will provide you with the fastest computer for rendering any video and photoshop assignments. I know you're saying it's pricey....trust me, it's well worth the investment. If I could give it more stars, I would!

Bought this computer with 8GB RAM for my video/photo editing, and upgraded with these for cheaper than the Apple cost, and oh man did it change things fast. So happy the RAM isn't soldered into these machines. I added these to the 8GB cards already in there to total 72 and it seems to work fine. (I saw that question a lot and also wondered). When installing make sure to press them firmly into place or the door won't close the right way! :) I love B&H. Shipping is always on point too.
