I was struggling to get any sort of multicam editing done on Final Cut Pro X using a 2017 MacBook Pro. Though this was an investment, I decided to upgrade to this instead of an entirely new computer for now, and I'm super glad I did. The build quality, the performance, and the ease-of-use is second to none. The pelican-style case is a nice addition as well for when editing on the go happens. The most important question isn't whether or not to get this, but to decide what size best fits your workflow. For me the 2TB was sufficient as I only work on one project at a time. I could see upgrading to another larger one later if that changes. 5 |

I am a professional media producer using Final Cut Pro, Photoshop CS5, and Lightroom3 on a daily basis. I was using a MacBook Pro 17 inch while I waited to upgrade my old G5 Power PC. In FCP, the render times are blazing fast. Creating DVD's in DVD Studio Pro was so fast, I was convinced there was a malfunction. But to my surprise, the DVD was perfect. I was able to burn 4 DVD's in the time it took to create 1 with the MacBook Pro. Lightroom3 runs smooth and fast as well. This workstation has improved my efficiency and is worth every penny. 5 |
