It does exactly what I need. I have a high end stereo receiver and speakers connected to my iMac computer analog audio output (headphone) jack. The receiver also is connected to several other analog audio sources. I have had persistent issues with hum in the audio from the computer. I tried all sorts of things, floating grounds, reversing plugs etc and nothing worked. putting the HE-18 in line with the computer completely eliminated the hum with no adverse side effects to the audio quality. I really appreciate the flexibility of all the various input and output connections. I now have a convenient extra port where I can plug in headphones for private listening when needed. (Unlike the idiots at Apple who put the headphone jack on the back of the iMac. What were they thinking?) The engineer who designed the HE18 deserves a lot of credit. He really did his homework. 5 |

This really is the only option to Apple removing the headphone jack and giving the user a way to charge and listen at the same time. Dongle-he$$ but what can you do. Works as advertised. 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was not happy when Apple got rid of the headphone jack, and held on to my old iPhone as long as I could. Eventually, I wanted to update my phone to a newer version, which meant losing the headphone jack. That means I had to choose between charging or music, but this little piece of technology has fixed that! Now I can charge my phone and play music through my aux at the same time. A must-have to connect to your iPhone 7, 8, & X. In my case my 6-month old Apple Lightning to headphone adapter didn't work; once I replaced it with a new one this Rode cable worked properly. BONUS: Check out the Rode SC6 to add a headphone output to the input chain! 5 |
