Apple Mac 17 Studio Display Monitor

I switched to a Mac Studio recently after spending the last 10 years editing video on iMac, and this monitor holds up incredibly well. No, it is not a 5K Retina display. However, it is about $1,000 less expensive than an Apple Display, and after using it for two weeks, I'm not noticing any major differences. The color and the resolution are high quality and very suitable for editing 4K video. This monitor also connects directly to the Mac Studio through a USB-C, and it started right up the first time. (I had read reviews that firmware needed to be updated on the monitor to use the USB-C connection, but I didn't not experience this). The 31.5 display is also a nice upgrade over the 27 iMac - that extra bit of real estate is always welcome. It takes up about the same amount of space on my desk as the iMac did. The matte screen is also great. The Retina Displays were too glossy with too many reflections, whereas this monitor minimizes and soften reflections. I'm very happy with this purchase, and if you're looking for a cost-effective alternative to an Apple Display, I would recommend the Dell Ultrasharp 31.5 4K HDR Monitor. 5 |

This is my 1st BenQ monitor (full disclosure). Was not sure if this BenQ would live up to the hype but I have been pleased so far. Buying this exact monitor again after B&H's Rosh Hashana Holiday Closing. Using with 10-core CPU/ 32-core GPU Mac Studio and love the combination. Speakers are superior to the built-in Mac Studio speakers. Initially considered it over the Apple Studio Display due to price (over 50% less) and bang for buck features. This monitor does not have web cam like Apple Studio Display but built in mic has strong clarity and fidelity. I have also used with PS5 in 120Hz mode (for compatible games) and it delivered. PVP FPS feel very responsive, a noticeable improvement and more submersed when compared to 60Hz mode. I can spend more time going into all features but may not do this monitor justice. See images of LED back-side enhancements (cool ambience) . Provided photos of screen to show level of glare and comparison between multiple applications. Screen brightness isn't the best compared to others but works for my residential office setup; no complaints with blinds open and ceiling fan light on. Hope this was helpful 5 |

This adapter worked without anything needed except to plug it into a Thunderbolt 4 port on my Mac Studio, power up my Apple LED Cinema Display and plug its minidisplayport connection into the adapter. The display is fully functional including the three connection usba hub on the back of the display. My Mac Studio running Ventura 13.1 recognizes the display and it is shown along with all of its functions in the displays settings on Ventura. I am using the LED Cinema Display as an extended display with an Apple Studio Display as the main display. Everything works beautifully. 5 |

We bought this to use with a Mac Mini at our part-time office--we use an Apple Studio Display in the main office to do photo editing. This is a GREAT monitor for the money and is as simple as can be to set up and start using. 5 |

The iSight camera on my older Apple Display didn't play well with my new Mac Studio. This Xcellon seems to work great; plug and play, auto focuses well, and color balance is a whole lot better than the older iSight camera. Microphone works fine, privacy cover is a nice touch. I use it for Zoom, Facetime, and Quicktime. For the price - this is a good deal. 5 |

It was time to replace my 6 year old iMac 27. I kept waiting for a new 27" iMac to be released but it appears that Apple has decided to not make them any longer, instead moving towards Mac Studios. I decided that I just needed to accept that and ordered a new Mac Studio M2 MAX from the Apple Store. Not a review but BH Photo had the Apple Studio Display for $150 less than the Apple Store and using my PayBoo Card I saved on the sales tax, so my savings were over $200.00. I think I made the right decision. This display is fantastic. Bright, sharp, superb 5K Resolution. It's slightly smaller overall the my old iMac (due to not having the computer inside). Exceptional accuracy without any calibration! The sound is also impressive, with its Six-speaker system with force-cancelling woofers, so good that I disconnected my old HK SoundSticks/Sub Woofer. The three-mic array is Studio Quality. My home office lighting is very neutral so I didn't need to go for the Nano Glass upgrade, The standard glass is already engineered for extremely low reflectivity. As for the Stand, the Standard Tilt only stand was fine for my needs and it's absurd what Apple want to charge for their Tilt and Height Adjustable Stand. Overall this Apple Studio Display is a major improvement over my aging 27" iMac Retina. Worth a bit of what a spent!!! 5 |

Upgraded from an old iMac to the Mac Mini w/Studio Display. Apple hardware stellar as always. I really appreciate all the built-in ports. I also really appreciate B&H's great Black Friday deal that allowed me to get a lot more for my budget. Very happy! 5 |

It works well with my new Mac studio and 27 apple display setup. Shoot still photos withmy drone images, capture 4K video DJI from various camera and my Canon DSLR cameras. Faster than my older USB 3.0 UDMA reader. 5 |
