Apple Mac Air 2018 Vs Macbook Pro

I got this for my MacBook Air 2018.  I tested it between my Mac and an Apple Cinema Display that connects via mini-Display port.  Works well.  I also tried it between the Mac and an HDMI-cabled monitor.  Also works well.  Its very lightweight and does what it says it will do.  I did not check the 4K compatibility.

Replaced a 2018 MacBook Pro with this Air. Am very happy so far. I miss the touch bar - was easy for autofilling things - but am getting used to living without it. Great speed and screen resolution.

having several past apple laptops, mac pro's, mac air's, I was surprised the Apple logo no longer is illuminated when open. Apple is still as great as ever but had to research why and this is now normal due to thin lid and burn thru of apple image on screen. Otherwise 10 for 10

My first MacBook Air. This Mac is awesome fast and great graphics. Works with all my apple devices. Love it.

I used to be a PC fanatic, but my first 21st century Mac, a MacBook Air, drove my conversion to Mac fanatic (2010), followed by a Pro in 2012, and other Macs thereafter. My new MacBook Pro (16) is the best ever, even topping my loaded MacMini (M2 chip) in my office. (This MBP-24 is my third Mac with Apple silicon in it.) This is the greatest Lightroom/Photoshop platform around! And B&H turned my order around promptly and perfectly. Bravo, gang!

My old Mac Pro book lasted 8 years. I am pleased to try out a Mac Air. I have trusted Apple products and services for years. Very helpful setting up new laptop

After six years of MacBook Pro's, I decided I no longer needed the firepower of those very fine machines and opted for the Air in part because I could not find anyone who could tell me anything bad or even slightly wimpy re the 2020 Air. The other part that prompted the switch was that demand for the Air appeared to persuade Apple to stick with something they pioneered but seemed to have fallen out of love with. If so many people continued to buy Air's even when not a lot of innovation was being invested in them, then who am I to ignore what the market was saying about the device. And the machine is light, fast, and has enough juice to keep an old guy like me chugging away in my eighth decade. (Yep, I am heading toward 71 in a few months.) The point here is that Apple continues to make very good devices that outlast the competition and meet lots of peoples' needs for computing, communication and creativity, even for old farts such as I who started a thousand years ago with PCs and see the Air as my buddy for quite a few years to come.

I was looking into replacing my 2013 Macbook Pro and configured a Mac Mini on the Apple website. It was going to take over a month to be shipped. I was able to find the same exact configuration I wanted at B&H and it arrived within 2 days. Excellent packaging and service.

I have a few Apple Cinema Displays and I had to buy it to connect with a MacBook Pro and or a Mac Pro, neither one of them have a DVI in. It works great with both machines, plus the price is great.

Loved my 2012 MacBook Pro, I really stressed over a replacement - initially ordered 2018 MB Air from B&H which arrived damaged and did re-think. It did feel like a hasty compromise when I ordered the MBA. I thought about how I used my 2012 MBP - mostly in one location and plugged into an outlet. The intrigue of the Mac Mini bit and stuck. I wanted BT 5.0 and that wasn't MADE available by Apple at the time. I liked the specs 3.0 chip, 256 GB etc and paired with Apple keyboard and mouse due to review complaints about connectivity with both devices. If there was an issue I would deliver all to the local Apple store and they could sort it out. I was really perplexed by Apple butterfly keyboard mechanism issues on their labtop line and their 4 year extended keyboard warranty from product introduction will roll around quickly. So Mac Mini with it's compromises (quiet speaker volume, no FaceTime camera or microphone) was decided and the last hurdle was finding a smaller display so I did not accidently knock it over.
