Apple Macbook Pro 15.4 Laptop June 2007

I upgraded from 2012 15.4 MacBook Pro, which still runs well but I needed the latest for my consulting project. This laptop is beastly in its speed and processing power. Display is superb and the battery life is 20+ hours every single time. I look forward to carrying this laptop without power cord when I am at clients' site or on the road. I am a management consult and hence usually use office productivity apps but I will need some serious processing power for database and BI apps like PowerBI and Tableaux. I think I have 10 times the processing power I will need. The price is high but in terms of value, it's going to be as good as 2012 MacBook Pro, which still is very good, after 11 years! So, this is a steal for those who are looking for the state of the art technology and the best long-term value!

I use this for photography and design work. It's an upgrade from my 2007 Macbook Pro which was connected to my Eizo monitor. The Mac Pro is a huge improvement. I took out the 3 GB of RAM and put in 24. Also added two 1 TB Barracudas. Will be upgrading to CS5.5, but even with CS3, Photoshop is really fast. And now Aperture actually works. It's very quiet. You just hear a kind of hum which I guess are the fans. I love all the ports that are available on this machine. The connectivity on the laptop left much to be desired. Will still have to get a laptop for traveling, but it's so much more convenient to have a desktop again for day-to-day work.

Plugged it in with an old 2007 MacBook, works as stated. I don't know if it's because of the age of my laptop, but I do also need to run separate audio to my amplifier. The mini-DVI port does not transmit audio.

This product works great for me. I run an Apple MacBook Pro laptop computer, I run a RodeCasterPro II Podcast Studio and I charge several Sony camera batteries for my Still and Cinema Line camcorders with precision high speed charging. I am extremely impressed with this product.

Why, oh why do I have to be an Apple fanboy? It's so unattractive. But look. As a MacBook Pro user who has his laptop hooked up to a monitor, I do need an external keyboard. After Apple ditched the wired version, I refused to indulge them on their wireless shenanigans, and went for a third party product. Big surprise: It's not as good. Not as expensive, for sure, but saving forty dollars is not a bargain if you're constantly unhappy. And keys that won't respond, or are in the SLIGHTLY wrong position, or don't give your fingertips the right feedback, are like a pebble in your shoe. Gotta spring for the real deal. So far, it's still running on its first charge, so I can't even really complain about the wireless thing. You win again, evil empire.

When you buy a MacBook Pro it comes in exceptionally nice sturdy packaging. The packaging is meant to not only hold the laptop firmly and safely in place it also holds the wall charger as well as an extension cord for the wall charger designed for a standard 3-prong wall socket. With this Pelican case you can remove the appropriate foam within the Pelican case in order to set the MacBook Pro packaging (i.e. the box the computer comes in) right in the center of the case. See attached pictures. Fits perfectly and with just the Apple packaging showing in the foam it looks ultra professional. Yet everything is sitting in the packaging as it comes from Apple. No need to cut out multiple pieces of foam in order for the laptop and included items. Simply cut out a rectangular chunk the size of the Apple packaging and you're good to go!! Sure it's only a case but I love it! I take excellent care of what I own and the laptop gets carried around every day and there is no worry about damaging it any longer.
