Apple Macbook Pro Battery Life Startup

The Apple MacBook Pro M1 cable is a little short for most purposes in my life and this extension cable makes it way easier to plug in where you want to. It's a no-brainer.

Apple MacBook Pro's have always delivered, and this one is no exception.

Apple no longer provided a battery option for my mid 2010 MacBook Pro, however the Apple Genius recommended B & H for a replacement. It fit perfectly and the instructions and included tools were perfect.

I like how Apple went with the design of the new MacBook Pro M3. Super fast with an amazing battery. I'm glad to see that they added the MagSafe port again.

I'm replacing a 2019 Macbook Pro 16 whose battery had reached the end of its useful life. I could have had the battery serviced for $200, but it made more sense to me to upgrade to a lighter machine with the same 1T storage and speed. It's only a pound lighter than the Pro, but that pound makes a huge difference since I haul it around daily.

Easy to install and great battery life! Makes my 10 year old MacBook Pro last as long as a brand new one.

I've had a used MacBook Pro 13 (2019) for 2 years. The overall performance, battery life, and 8 GB RAM became very problematic in the last 3 months since I updated to Sonoma... So I decided it was time I upgraded to a newer machine. B&H had an awesome deal on the specific model I felt was right for me-- M2, 13.6 Screen, 256GB Storage, 16GB RAM-- so I went for it. Got it in two days! I've been using it for almost 2 weeks now and it has been an absolute delight. Huge upgrade from my last MacBook and confident that it is going to easily take me into the next 3-5 years of usage!

This is a follow up on my original review from 12/3/2022 (I do not see a way to update an existing review). All my findings in the first review are still valid and the laptop has proven itself a reliable workhorse. However I discovered one intermittent issue with the battery life. In most cases the 80% charged battery wold last at least 4-6 hours when watching videos or browsing web on the lowest brightness. Occasionally however it would drop to 2 hours or less (the back of the laptop would also become noticeably warm). I turned on battery saver, made sure to disable any programs and services, except the video player or the browser tab I was using, and the CPU utilization was around 1%. Yet the battery life was unusually short and I could find any reason for that. A reboot (sometimes more than once) would help in most cases but this did not seem right. After some research I found that Windows Fast Startup, enabled by default, may be causing this (no hard evidence though). Anyway, after disabling Fast Startup my battery life on the lowest settings improved to consistent 7-8 hours (again with the initial charge of 80%). If you are unhappy with your battery life search for How to Turn On or Off Fast Startup in the Control Panel. It is simple and I did not notice any adverse effects.

This product is perfect for my 13 Apple MacBook Pro.
