Apple Macbook Pro Fall 2020

I upgraded my 2017 MacBook Pro and it really seems it worth it. This new 2020 Macbook is very fast, has a much better battery and a totally new keyboard. As usual, Apple made a very good job!

Apple MacBook Pro's have always delivered, and this one is no exception.

The new 2020 Apple 13.3” MacBook Air with Retina display is the best thing to come from Apple in a long time. Slightly smaller and lighter than previous MacBook Airs, this one packs a lot value. It is a faster and smoother operating laptop than my previous 2012 version. The TruTone display provides excellent and realistic pictures from my photographs or the web. I was worried about there being only the 2 USB - C version 3 ports but that hasn’t been a problem. Ordering it from B&H was the best option I could have made. The best value compared to any other vendor, and the support staff was exceptional in making smooth and fast. Their shipping was great and they kept me updated with the movement of the package throughout its shipment. Arrived exactly when they said it would. I recommend the 2020 MacBook Air for anyone looking to upgrade from older versions. In addition, this model could be the last one to come out with an Intel chip, making this model a likely collector’s item. If you have an Apple chip laptop (I own a MacBook Air M1 2020), and you use an external screen (yes, a 2012 Apple Thunderbolt 27 monitor), then this keyboard is a must. I will never get used to the more compact keyboards without the numeric keypad and extra buttons, but most importantly this keyboard has a magic fingerprint sensor identical to the one on your laptop, so you can close the laptop-that-never-heats-up and enjoy all the perks of logins, password and authorizations using the fingerprint sensor. At $179 it is on the pricy side, but I value not needing a cable and the sensor, so overall very much worth it.

For those looking or an entry level Apple portable, the 2020 Macbook Air is a good value. For you usual computer work like writing, youtube, Netflix, surfing the net, Zoom meetings, and for my case, some desktop publishing the Macbook Air is fast and snappy. It can even edit my RAW files from my Fujifilm X100f pretty comfortably on Apple Photos rather comfortably. It can even handle some occasional short 4k video clips from my A7III on Final Cut without much problems. All in all very happy with my purchase.

Apple keeps doing it, for some reason apple products work best on apple products. I bought a few of these for my MacBook Pro, I have no complaints.

I have a 2020 MacBook Pro that only has USB-C ports, like most newer Apple Laptops. I also have two older Fujifilm X-T2 digital cameras that use a USB port matching the weird USB 3.2 connector that is on one end of this cable. When the X-T2 came out, the USB 3.2 G2 connector was the supposed new standard replacing the old USB 2.0 connector. Problem is that USB-C arrived less than a year and USB 3.2 was quickly discontinues. It took me a long time to find this cable and I had to keep removing my SD cards and plug them into an SD card reader to download my images. This SecureData Cable is well made with s cloth covering and solid metal connectors. I highly recommend it.

It is a serious upgrade from my old MacBook Pro. I was debating between the newest 2020 model and this Mid 2019 model. With $600 discount, this model offers much more than the newest model other than the new keyboard on 2020 MacBook Pro.
