This is probably the best solution for a portable, pro headphone amplifier at the $ price point. What sold me about this unit was its wide range of input configurations and the fact that it does have both size headphone output jacks, which is perfect for working with clients who have their own headphones but not the adapter. These amps have plenty of clean, quiet gain. More than you will need and enough to blow up cans. It doesn't have an input trim so you ought to have some gain control at your source output. Your best bet is to run signal into this thing at unity gain. It is built very well and has a solid, steel chassis. Apple keeps doing it, for some reason apple products work best on apple products. I bought a few of these for my MacBook Pro, I have no complaints.
