Apple Macbook Pro Pre Installed Software

I installed this SSD in a mid-2012 Macbook Pro 13" version 9,2 model. Wow! I became a big fan of SSD drives with my new iMac and the MacBook was looking so pokey in comparison. Now my MacBook has new life, amazingly faster performance. It's the best speed upgrade I have ever experienced with a product. I'm running High Sierra on this book with no glitches. Has 16 gb ram. I highly recommend this especially because new Macbooks are so pricey and Apple has taken away ports I use in the new models, such as Ethernet, DVD drive, Firewire. It's a new machine again. Just be aware you will want to partition the drive with the new Apple APFS as it will not work with GUID. I then migrated my software with Apple migration assistant with only minor glitches to some software icons. Those I fixed by booting in safe mode, then back to normal mode.

Great pre-built keeb, software was fickle to install it didn't like I to be installed when I had the dongle plugged in.. took it out and armory installed just fine.

It was free with my laptop purchase, but I like it. I'll likely renew. I uninstalled all Mcafee software pre installed on my computer. It seriously felt like a virus.

Bought this for its compactness and large storage size. But the first time I transferred 300 plus gbs from my secondary drive to the Passport....my main drive crashed. (I asked every IT friend I knew if transferring that amount of data had anything to do with the crash, and the resounding answer was no. Bought a new main drive, and I'm once again up & running). With that said: Pros: USB 3.0, backward compatible with 2.0; small, very small, sleek, attractive, and love the storage capacity. Stayed relatively cool even when transferring the above-mentioned 300gbs. Cons: short cord, but I understand this has to do with transfer speeds and for users of notebooks, etc. Still...... The software that comes bundled with this version comes pre-installed in the drive, within their own respective folders. I've read many negatives about the software, especially the password lock. Although, yes, it's pre-installed, WD has given users the option of which program they want to initiate. Your choice. Otherwise, if you just want to bypass all of it (as I have) it's ready to be used as a straight storage device right out of the box. Just think of the Passport as a more sophisticated, over-sized flash-drive: Sweet and simple. Would definitely recommend a protective case for it, too, especially if you intend on transporting it a lot. Highly Recommended

Apple keeps doing it, for some reason apple products work best on apple products. I bought a few of these for my MacBook Pro, I have no complaints.
