Apple Mouse Switch Between Computers

This IOGEAR GCS110-4 4-Port KVMP switch is my first purcahse of this type of gear...should have bought one years ago. I had checked out one of the other brands, but the manufacturer's web-site had the same photo and description for two models, very confusing. I am using this switch with three computer, Win7, Win8.1 and a Linux rig. I keep the fourth port open for testing other computers, no need to connect one being tested to a separate keyboard and mouse setup. This switch allows me to easily switch between computers via keyboard shortcuts. I have a Logitech Keyboard and Mouse which share a single wireless USB dongle, plugging the dongle into the keyboard USB port of the monitor area of the switch allows me to use the keyboard and mouse on all computers. I did have to uninstall the Logitech software which allowed for custom keyboard layout (volume up/down, next track, etc.) as it seemed to conflict with the way the KVMP switch emulated Keyboard and Mouse Control...not an issue for me in this case. I am not a hard-core gamer, thus do not have a mouse with 92 buttons on it..more of a FPS and Flight Sim guy here. I like the fact that I can switch the keyboard/mouse, Vidoe and USB separately from the audio, that is I can have music playing on one computer, switch the Keyboard/Mouse, Video, and USB to another computer and still hear the music from the first computer. I have all my external drives and printers connected directly to the Win7 computer working as a server for all my data. I have a USB hub connected to the KVMP input which is accessed by whichever computer I am using for such things as my web-cam, joystick, multimedia card reader, and ID CAC Card Reader. I started taking IT classes and now I can easily do remote access, learned how to access Windows Shared Folders from the Linux box...and more, having the computers side by side with one control system is a Godsend. I would recommend this switch to anyone considering such a purchase.

I use this to switch the monitor, mouse, keyboard and sound between 2 computers. It's been working flawlessly.

Awesome mouse! USBC is great. I love the 3 profiles, let's me switch between my computers. My hand still hurts, but it's definitely better than my old mouse.

Works great. I had a few issues due to multiple computers and wanting to switch a mouse from one of to another. You have to make sure to disconnect the mouse from the previous PC before connecting to the new PC.

The switch is very easy to use and does everything I want and need. With the only setup being to connect your monitor, keyboard and mouse, along with the computers you want to connect with. I would recommend this switch to anyone needing a KVM switch that handles DVI along with audio from all computers.

Being able to switch between two computers with the same mouse is awesome! I have been using 2 mice and 2 keyboards in the past when I needed to work between 2 computers. Now I can just move my mouse from one to the other and switch my keyboard back and forth with the push of a button. This is very productive.

I had an older KVM switch installed that shared my monitor, key board and mouse between two computers. It finally gave out. I went to B & H and was very happy to see that I could still purchase this switch new. I came home and plugged it in and everything worked again. Thank You KVM

Bought it to switch keyboard, mouse and headphones between 3 computers (windows and Ubuntu). Works as expected with no delay when switching between the computers.

Having compared prices between this KVM with others, I was taking a risk by not knowing will this switch validate such a price gap from its cheaper competitors. Outcome? Well worth it! As instructed, I used wired connections for my keyboard and mouse and everything connected without a problem. The switch easily and quickly moves between my four computers (3 PCs and 1 Mac). The keys and mouse as well as video perform perfectly. When I had to reconfigure my office everything had to be unplugged. When I set everything back up, my monitor displayed "HDMI Out of Range" for all my computers. Not good. Went on to the website and found an excellent video that instructed me on how to reset my switch. I followed the video's very clear audio/visual instructions and everything works again! Thanks Startech for making a very good product that met the expectations I had with its price. Then, also for putting together an excellent website with the resources needed to allow me to correct my problem.

I use this kvm switch to go between two desktop computers. One has all of my personal business info and programs, the other is my expermental computer. The reason I give this switch 5 stars is that in works perfectly with my Logitech MX5500 Blue Tooth keyboard/mouse combo. I had problems with other switches being able to use both the keyboard and mouse. I have not found a bad thing about this product.
