Apple Photos Review

I recently purchased an iPad Pro from B&H Photos to replace my iPad Air, which was failing due to battery issues. They had the iPad Pro that I wanted on sale which was a major factor in my decision making. It's performance is excellent with the new M1 chip. I'm also very confident I made the right choice for a supplier and the iPad. I recently retired and was an everyday user of PCs and Windows based software for most of my career. I bought my first iPad a few years ago and became an advocate for Apple products from that time. Being fairly new to the Apple environment I completed some research. During that research, I became aware of B&H Photos as a key supplier of Apple products. They are very competitive on pricing and their customer service was top notch. I got my new iPad Pro in 2 days. I'm writing this review on my new iPad Pro and enjoying the product with every application.

My wife and I purchased iPads for our parents (non-Apple users), so that we can share media/photos more easily. Setup was typically easy and the gifts were well-appreciated.

I needed to replace my older 4T USB3 drive that was getting full with all my photos. I chose this one because of it's size and that it has at USB-C connection that fits my Mac. I chose to reformat the drive for Apple (not required because the drive is reformatted for Apple and PC) and then moved all my files from my old drive to it. This drive is noticeably faster and more stable than my old drive and I'm very happy with it.

I know the M4's are around the corner but I could not wait any longer. I'm a creative professional and my 2017 iMac was not cutting it anymore. So after MONTHS of research I chose the M2 Pro 16/512 set-up. I also bought an Apple Studio display refurbished from Apple. I immediately noticed a tremendous difference in performance when it came to Lightroom. I could easily go thru my photos without a multi-second lag. When I use the AI denoise feature - it's MUCH faster - with my 2017 iMac it would take about 35 seconds - with my m2 pro Mac Mini it completes the task in less than 10 seconds. When you apply that to HUNDREDS of photos the time saved is worth it alone. Editing 4K footage in Premiere is effortless. I also bought an SSD enclosure with a 2TB Western Digital SSD to serve as my scratch disk. Finally I got the magic trackpad and touch ID keyboard. I'm loving this set-up!

Not only does it work perfectly but the Apple iOS makes it super simple to use. Easy way to share videos and photos on a bigger screen. Small and lightweight, slip in your pocket and take it with you.

I got the apple Digital AV adaptor so I could look at photos I uploaded to my IPAD mini 3. It works great! I can connect the IPAD mini to a TV and review my photos and allow others to see the photos as well

My previous photo editing/cataloguing method was using Aperture and then Apple Photos, while I still like Photos for storing and sharing my library, now I use Lightroom to edit (in RAW) and now only keep my favorites in Apple Photos for sharing. You simply cannot beat the straightforward and powerful toolset in Lightroom. I highly recommend this product, especially since I got it during a deal on B&H. I would still pay full price if I didn't have a choice.

I bought this hd for my new Apple MacBook Pro to keep my photos on. Compact and looks to be heavy duty. I don't plan on dropping it, but it looks like it can handle a little abuse. Nice small package.

Using it to backup photos and files from my MacBook. Easy to setup and use. Works great with Apple Time Machine
