Apple Plans Thinner Macbook With Charger

Every time I bring my MacBook to work, I always have to bring the original little white Apple adapter, plug it in back and forth to home-work, work-home... Well, those days are over. Now, I can leave the Xcellon 100W USB-C Universal AC Adapter permanently on my desk at work while the original Apple charger is stored in the laptop's case to take it anywhere else. The original Apple charger is only 30 watts, which I also used it for other USB-C PD devices, but the Xcellon for being 100 watts, is much better. It will deliver intelligently up to 100 watts to whatever device that needs that much current, like a bigger laptop or an V-Mount battery and will also safely charge my MacBook to only supplying the appropriate current it needs. Nothing more. That's what PD means: "Power Delivery". Very happy with it, it does what it's supposed to and now I have two ways to charge my laptop. Also, it features a built-In Circuit Protection Circuitry, and if you live in a country that is 220 volts, the charger automatically switches to the appropriate wattage (110/220), no problem. When you buy a MacBook Pro it comes in exceptionally nice sturdy packaging. The packaging is meant to not only hold the laptop firmly and safely in place it also holds the wall charger as well as an extension cord for the wall charger designed for a standard 3-prong wall socket. With this Pelican case you can remove the appropriate foam within the Pelican case in order to set the MacBook Pro packaging (i.e. the box the computer comes in) right in the center of the case. See attached pictures. Fits perfectly and with just the Apple packaging showing in the foam it looks ultra professional. Yet everything is sitting in the packaging as it comes from Apple. No need to cut out multiple pieces of foam in order for the laptop and included items. Simply cut out a rectangular chunk the size of the Apple packaging and you're good to go!! Sure it's only a case but I love it! I take excellent care of what I own and the laptop gets carried around every day and there is no worry about damaging it any longer. Combine the above by making the purchase through B&H and you're ready to travel without fear.

This is a very nicely made charger and will keep all of your devices charged. I have tested it on my 16 Apple Silicon MacBook Pro. It will charge the MacBook Pro at 100 Watts so it can also handle an iPhone, Watch and iPad. Very compact and the 6 foot extension cord is a great idea as it makes it easy to use for international travel.

Do everything that do my MacBook charger, but this one is cheaper and more compact. One bad thing - can't change plug to european (apple's can), must use an adapter that is not so solid and handy.

This charger negates my need for the big Apple charger for my MacBook Pro, for my iPhone 13 and Apple Watch 9. Since they never need to be charged at the same time, I can handle two at a time. Great bargain and if it ever goes on sale, I'll get another!

Protection plans aren't very exciting, but I did manage to get some valuable use out of the protection plan I purchased years ago for my mid 2010 MacBook Pro when its motherboard developed some cold solder joint problems and needed to be replaced just as the plan was running out. I'm typing this on my new 14 inch MacBook Pro which I just purchased to replace that mid 2010 MacBook Pro that I have used daily for almost 12 years. Purchasing the protection plan was worth it.

Even though I'm not one for buying insurance plans, the AppleCare+ is truly one you need for an expensive MacBook. It is worth every dollar for the peace of mind. After you read the reviews of several plan you will discover AppleCare+ is the best choice. Highly recommend this plan to purchase through the B&H website.

Apparently Apple stopped doing these boxed protection plans, and moved on to just digital codes or online or whatever. So they were a little confused in the store when I told them I was getting a protection plan in the mail. But it applied without any problems. Great!

I usually don't purchase extra plans of this sort, but the peace of mind for only $ was well worth it. If anything goes wrong, Apple will come fix my computer.

Can't beat this deal on bonafide AppleCare Protection. I've tried other protection plans but always come back to Apple. For one, some other protection plans will stick you when they say, replace with like kind-- which could mean a PC with same RAM and features as your MacBook or other Apple product. With AppleCare you have the confidnce of always knowing you will have Apple products and parts.
