Apple Pod Headphones Review

I own this and a home pod from apple. This is definitely 100% better sound. JBL you definitely deserve 5 *****

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve usually only ever used apple headphones and was skeptical of using a different brand but this definitely proved me wrong. The audio is so crisp and clear. I was genuinely surprised by the quality of the audio and the headphones. I was concerned about the shape of the headphones and them fitting in my ear but they passed the running test without falling! Definitely my new everyday headphones.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Full disclosure: I was sent this product to review it. Honestly, it works great for its intended purpose. I was able to charge my phone and connect Lightning headphones at the same time. I didn't notice any difference in sound quality between plugging the headphones into this product or plugging them straight into my iPhone. They also work perfectly with the 3.5 mm to Lightning adapter provided by Apple with my phone. The RockStar feels sturdy and uses Apple's signature look well. If it weren't for the Belkin logo on the Lightning plug, this could easily have been mistaken for something made by Apple. It also couldn't be simpler to use. Plug it into the iPhone and plug your headphones and power cord into either available port. There are only two things I could think of to make this product better. First would have been to have one port be a 3.5 mm jack. I only have the one pair of lightning headphones Apple provided and the adapter. I have a pile of old headphones though. My second thought would have been, if you have two Lightning ports on the adapter, let it be used to plug in two sets of headphones to act as a splitter. This may be a limitation set by Apple and not the product itself, but it would add a level of use to the RockStar. If you use Lightning headphones or 3.5 mm headphones with a Lightning adapter, this is a great product to be able to listen to music while you charge your phone. Personally, I use Bluetooth about 99.9% of the time, but I'm glad I have this product for those times I can't.

I was looking for these at Christmas and read that B&H was offering the full apple discount - better than anyplace else I could find. Pod arrived on time, very well packaged and worked perfectly. Thank you B&H

I use these headphones to listen to music on an I-Pod and also when I am streaming music on the computer. I like the fact I can still talk to someone while wearing them and still hear the music just fine. The sound is very good for such a light weight unit and they are very comfortable. I can wear them for several hours without any problems. I have a set of earbuds that start to irritate my ears after about 30 minutes. Although they were $80 I prefer the $32 Koss Porta Pros. If you are looking for a headphone to knock out the outside noise these are not what you want but for listening to music at home or work or on vacation they are perfect. The Koss does not pinch my hair but I am careful putting it on. The tension adjustment on the side of the temple pads works well....

I got this to replace an old Altec Lansing 2.1 speaker system that had the best bass in the world and really good overall sound. That model is no longer made unfortunately. These Logitech z313's are not quite as good but overall the sound they produce is clear and balanced and pleasant. You can't adjust the bass or subwoofer output on it from the unit itself but by default it produces clear and nice sounding bass. The satellites also sound very good.One thing to be aware of is you cannot adjust the sound from the little volume pod when you are using headphones. The volume pod only works for the speakers. You have to adjust the sound from the computer. Also, if you have the headphones plugged into the pod but have the 2.1 system off, sound will still come out of the headphones.I tried a few other 2.1 systems before this including some cyber acoustics and various 2.0 speaker sets and the z313 to my ears sounds better than all of them.

I was reluctant to spend the money for these headphones but decided to go ahead because it would easily function with all my apple products. I'm very happy that I made this choice as the performance exceeded my expectations. They work great within the Apple system as they automatically connect to my Apple TV, iPhone and iPad. The noise canceling is fantastic and allows the sound quality to be enjoyed even on subways and trains. Beware, the sound is so good you can miss a stop if you're not paying attention.
