Apple Problem Computer Turns Off

Upgrading to 5 stars. Turns out the problem is that Apple shipped my computer with memory modules that run at 2133 instead of 2400 even though they are labelled 2400. So they won't work with actual 2400 speed memory. If you have the problem that the iMac won't start with added memory, google the micron part number and check the specs. Don't believe the pc2400 printed on the chip! The Crucial tech support people figured this out and they were SUPER 5 |

I've always bought Apple Care with any new computer. The service from Apple is outstanding. Anytime there is a problem with software or hardware, Apple always comes through.. 5 |

i have always bought applecare for all my apple computers, and for one reason or another, have always needed it, unfortunately. even though it's expensive insurance upfront, it has always paid for itself. plus, it offers peace-of-mind cuz i can call apple at any time with any problem and not worry about paying for each call. this is great for problems like the computer crashing and, for some reason, my not being able to reboot it. or if there is a very serious problem that would be expensive to fix, applecare takes care of it. whatever it is, applecare covers the gamut. also, i have found apple's customer service to be very helpful and knowledgeable. the only bummer is the upfront cost for the service and that it only covers the computer for 3 years total. 5 |

I'm not a professional photographer or graphic artist but I dabble in both fields as an advanced amateur. I have paired this monitor with a Mac Studio, 32GB RAM, 10 Core CPU, 24 Core GPU computer. I couldn't be happier with both the computer and the monitor. Up until this setup I was using the Retina 27 iMac. This setup blows that away. I read a lot about scaling issues with 32 monitors paired with Macs as well as issues with less than crisp type. I have had no issues with either of those with this monitor. I've tried all the resolution settings that the Mac Studio offers me and several of the scaling options worked well for me. The default setting of 3840X2160 resulted in icons and type being too small for my taste. I ultimately settled on 3200X1800. All the type is crisp and clear. Even a 0.1 pt. pencil line in my graphics program (Affinity Designer) when is crisp and clear at 100% as well as 3,000%. I read another reviewers problem with traveling bloom as the mouse moves across a gray or white background. I have no problems with that issue. No traveling bloom on my system. I do notice a very slight change in a white background when I move my head back and forth across the screen as the other reviewer noted. It does not bother me. I rarely move my head in that way when using the monitor so I don't consider it an issue. You may. The only real issue I have, and this seems to be a common problem when pairing anything other than an Apple monitor with an Apple computer, is the lag time when waking up the monitor and/or computer from sleep. I was used to an immediate wakeup with the iMac. This system takes at least 5 seconds to wake up. However, it's not something that would keep me from buying this monitor since I think I would have the same problem with any other external monitor that was not an Apple product. In summary, I think this is great monitor. I would buy it again and would recommend it to my family and friends. 5 |

If your computer is not loaded with USB ports, here's your solution. An On/Off switch for each port. 5 |

How can I stress this enough. TAKE THE LENS HOOD OFF! I was getting a square image, no circle. I started to panic. Couldn't find anything on online about what was happening. I was getting mad. I called Nikon. They were looking into the problem. Then someone on the phone said the words lens hood. I immediately knew the problem. I took the lens hood off and voila! Problem solved. I didn't even think about it beforehand because the 14-24 has a built in lens hood that doesn't come off. Rookie mistake. Felt like a real idiot in front of the entire office. Yes, you may laugh at me. Go right ahead. Hopefully my mistake will keep you from making the same! 5 |
