Apple Thunderbolt Cable Converter

I use a Presonus Firestudio Project, which uses a Firewire connection, in my home studio. Of course, Firewire is a dead standard but I had seen that Apple had a converter to go from Firewire to Thunderbolt, so when I ordered my ASUS Republic of Gamers computer from B&H of course I ordered the Apple converter too. Unfortunately what I didn't realize was that the Thunderbolt end was the older, larger connector, and the computer had a USB-C/Thunderbolt connector that's a different size. So I still couldn't make the last mile. I ordered this converter, and it works perfectly. A couple of words of caution, though. It didn't work right away, not because of the converter but because of quirks in the Presonus hardware and their Studio One software. If you're looking at this for the same reason, be sure to remember to install Universal Control off the disk that came with the hardware first. Then download the update. It might take a few restarts to get the computer to see the Firestudio Project and get the light to turn blue. Once you've done that, if you're using Studio One and it doesn't show up automatically you can manually select it as the audio device. Then you'll be good to go. This converter has been a lifesaver. I can now record again, and I don't have to try to talk my wife into letting me buy a new audio interface! 5 |

I use this cable to connect my macbook to my converter in my home studio. My old thunderbolt cable was only 10' feet long so I constantly had to run back and forth from the desk to the recording area to run sessions. There is effectively 0 latency even with the long 33' run, and everything sounds incredible. Couldn't be happier with this product! 5 |

The Apple Thunderbolt Cable worked perfectly for my streaming setup which included a Nikon D750 going out to a Blackmajic Ultra Mini Recorder to my Apple iMac. The cable is long enough to run the cable from the camera as it’s mounted on a tripod in the center of my studio. 5 |

Notice how Apple stopped selling their Thunderbolt Pro cable? I have one. It stopped working after a year. This Cable is solid. Hasn't failed me (yet). 5 |

I got a new iPad which now uses a USB-C cable. I needed something to convert that cord for use with an older Apple wall converter. This works great. 5 |

Great module as one would expect from BMD but be advised this is not backwards compatible with anything other than Thunderbolt 3; no not even with a Apple Thunderbolt 2 to 3 conversion cable. 5 |

Works great. It's an Apple product, and it's pretty much the only way to be sure that you're ordering a Thunderbolt 2 cable in the mini-DisplayPort form factor. I needed to connect two old MacBook Airs, and this made it possible. 5 |

When I saw Belkin was the same price as Apple’s thunderbolt 3 cable, it was a no brainer—you can’t go wrong with Apple adapters or cables. Size seems to be limited when it comes to data and TB3 chords. The $129 Apple TB3 cable seems way over priced, but the 2 standard sizes are solid, a decent price in comparison and Apple CService is top notch, just NOT as good as B&H, of course. 5 |

Obviously a great cable. I have ALWAYS had good luck with apple cables. going back to Thunderbolt 2. This is exactly the same, but better. Transfer rates are great, the braided line is a nice touch. But its insanely priced... 5 |

Disclaimer: In order for this to work you MUST have the Apple certified thunderbolt 3 cable. Do not attempt to buy a knock off or use a USB-C hard drive cable. It will not power the device. You need the $40 Apple cable. Other than, that this thing works perfectly. It’s predecessor would always give me connection issues and I would have to unplug and replug it. This one new plug it in and go. I love it. Wish they would’ve released it a while back but I’m enjoying it now 5 |
