Apple Thunderbolt Display Computer Monitor

I bought this monitor as I needed a replacement for my ageing Apple Thunderbolt display. I researched about half a year on a variety of monitors from all the leading brands, but was dismayed by the lack of features, connectivity, a true 4K resolution or the build quality. I am a graphic designer and I need a monitor with a full color gamut, and a true reproduction of colours in various ambient lighting conditions. While my old Thunderbolt display was less than perfect, it worked for the time being. I also looked at EIZO displays, but did not have the budget for a monitor with similar specs. With the BenQ PD3220U I found a display that works great for me. On the plus side: • Full 4K monitor with an absolute brilliant clarity. • Matte coated anti glare screen • Single USB-C connection to my MacBook Pro for charge and display • Excellent / true colour reproduction when calibrated • Solid build quality • Ability to set up in Portrait or Landscape • Height adjustable • Plenty of ports • Very thin bezels which makes the display look smaller despite its 32 On the minus side: • Coming from an Apple product, the ports for peripherals are not easy to access. • No camera - but then, this is a design monitor and I have a camera build-in to my laptop • Speakers are horrible, but yet again, the focus should be on the monitor itself. Overall, I love the monitor and considering that this display cost about the same as the LG displays Apple promotes it is superior in build quality and features. 5 |

I like and trust Apple Displays for their beautiful image and color accuracy. I retouch photographs and color grade videos and films. The Apple monitor is accurate and bright with great resolution. It's a good size and small footprint on my desk. I purchased it with the new Mac Studio. It works well with the new computer. I purchased the Apple 27 Studio display with just the tilt option and it works fine. It sits nicely above the Mac Studio computer. The stand doesn't take up much desk space. There is no power switch for the monitor. As soon as you turn on the computer it is on and ready for viewing. I also like that there is no sleep light to keep flashing when the monitor is off or sleeping. The bezel around the viewable screen is a reasonable size and smaller than my other LG monitor. The Apple Display is easy to setup. Just plug it in and plug in the included Thunderbolt cable to the computer. Both cables are a soft and flexible black cable. I think the price is reasonable for the Apple Studio Display. My first Apple Display was the HD 24 version and cost around $1899 to $2199. Many years later the 5K 27 version is less money than that. I think that's a good deal. And much more affordable than the 32 XDR 6K monitor. I'm very pleased with the Apple Studio Display, as it just works well and looks great. 5 |

After 7 weeks of owning an Apple Thunderbolt display, it was dead. I took it to an Apple Store and they swapped it out for a new one. I decided the price tag was too high to take the risk of not 'insuring' the new one. I bought the AppleCare for Displays as a precaution. The price was reasonable and much lower here at B&H than at the Apple Store. Apple does not care where you buy the AppleCare. You can still register it on the Apple website. 5 |

That's right, this adapter allows you to connect your Dell Alienware 17 computer (Thunderbolt 3 adapter) to an Apple 27 Thunderbolt display...and it WORKS!!! I searched all over for something that would work, and this works...no kidding. The cheapo brands out there will NOT work, trust me I checked them all out. B&H always has the cheapest price + fast, free shipping. 5 |

I switched to a Mac Studio recently after spending the last 10 years editing video on iMac, and this monitor holds up incredibly well. No, it is not a 5K Retina display. However, it is about $1,000 less expensive than an Apple Display, and after using it for two weeks, I'm not noticing any major differences. The color and the resolution are high quality and very suitable for editing 4K video. This monitor also connects directly to the Mac Studio through a USB-C, and it started right up the first time. (I had read reviews that firmware needed to be updated on the monitor to use the USB-C connection, but I didn't not experience this). The 31.5 display is also a nice upgrade over the 27 iMac - that extra bit of real estate is always welcome. It takes up about the same amount of space on my desk as the iMac did. The matte screen is also great. The Retina Displays were too glossy with too many reflections, whereas this monitor minimizes and soften reflections. I'm very happy with this purchase, and if you're looking for a cost-effective alternative to an Apple Display, I would recommend the Dell Ultrasharp 31.5 4K HDR Monitor. 5 |

I bought 2 of these for my laptop for a dual monitor display. These are less than half the price than the Apple brand. I also own the apple version on another computer and these are the exact same build and don't feel or work any different. I love Apple but spend your money on their computers/tablets and save yourself a few bucks on accessories. 5 |

It's a cable and its job is simple, take the signal from the computer and display it on a monitor. 5 |

After looking around for a monitor upgrade for my Mac with Thunderbolt 3, I found the LG on B&H at a great price. It by far the best monitor I have had. The 5K display look as sharp as any I have found and an added bonus is the PBP feature so I can have two screens displayed at the same time. Talk about multitasking, I may wind up with split personality disorder. Just kidding. Iit has HDMI and display port inputs it can handle any CPU. 5 |
