Apple Thunderbolt Display With Windows Laptop

Used to connect Apple 27 Thunderbolt Display to Dell PC.

After 7 weeks of owning an Apple Thunderbolt display, it was dead. I took it to an Apple Store and they swapped it out for a new one. I decided the price tag was too high to take the risk of not 'insuring' the new one. I bought the AppleCare for Displays as a precaution. The price was reasonable and much lower here at B&H than at the Apple Store. Apple does not care where you buy the AppleCare. You can still register it on the Apple website.

I bought this monitor as I needed a replacement for my ageing Apple Thunderbolt display. I researched about half a year on a variety of monitors from all the leading brands, but was dismayed by the lack of features, connectivity, a true 4K resolution or the build quality. I am a graphic designer and I need a monitor with a full color gamut, and a true reproduction of colours in various ambient lighting conditions. While my old Thunderbolt display was less than perfect, it worked for the time being. I also looked at EIZO displays, but did not have the budget for a monitor with similar specs. With the BenQ PD3220U I found a display that works great for me.  On the plus side: • Full 4K monitor with an absolute brilliant clarity. • Matte coated anti glare screen  • Single USB-C connection to my MacBook Pro for charge and display  • Excellent / true colour reproduction when calibrated • Solid build quality • Ability to set up in Portrait or Landscape • Height adjustable • Plenty of ports • Very thin bezels which makes the display look smaller despite its 32  On the minus side: • Coming from an Apple product, the ports for peripherals are not easy to access. • No camera - but then, this is a design monitor and I have a camera build-in to my laptop • Speakers are horrible, but yet again, the focus should be on the monitor itself. Overall, I love the monitor and considering that this display cost about the same as the LG displays Apple promotes it is superior in build quality and features.

Needed to add more Thunderbolt ports to my Windows 11 laptop. Installation was very easy, just plug and play. Three Thunderbolt 4 C ports and one USB 3.2 gen 2 A port does it all. Very happy computer, the hub helps the laptop to work the way I want.

I bought 2 of these for my laptop for a dual monitor display. These are less than half the price than the Apple brand. I also own the apple version on another computer and these are the exact same build and don't feel or work any different. I love Apple but spend your money on their computers/tablets and save yourself a few bucks on accessories.

Switched from Windows laptop. This MacBook has Good performance, good display, good speakers, good battery, good keyboard and track pad, good camera. And on top of that ....clean MacOS. Overall....nailed the basics of a laptop. I went with the base variant 8gb RAM 256gb SSD and being a software engineer myself....it's good enough computing power for me. Tip : If you get too confused with the colors, get the silver one. It looks the best and the most premium of the bunch in real life. And .....no ugly fingerprints too

Bought one back in December to use my old Apple Thunderbolt monitor with my Dell laptop. Once I went through the process of updating *ALL* the drivers and the motherboard BIOS, it worked perfectly. And then, tragedy struck. My laptop decided to give up the ghost and I opted to get a lighter HP, so I returned my Dell docking station to work and waited for the wheels of corporate bureaucracy to churn until I got a new one for my HP. It took 7 months, but I got it this past weekend. AND IT STILL WORKED! I fired it up connected to the TB Monitor and it came right up, even before updating everything (which I did). Come Monday morning (today), I have a MASSIVE 27" monitor to work off of.

If you have an Apple laptop (or any other laptop with Thunderbolt) this is an awesome device to convert your laptop into a desktop. So many connection options for USB devices, secondary monitors, backup storage drives, keyboard, mouse, ethernet, you name it, all in one simple connection to your laptop by a single Thunderbolt cable. And it charges the laptop at the same time through the Thunderbolt connection. It cost $$ but is so worth it for the convenience. Newer Thunderbolt 4 device really adds little to real-world use, so if you don't have a reason for Thunderbolt 4 connectivity, save a few $ and buy this. You will not be disappointed.
