Apple Usb C Headphone Dongle

This thing is microscopic. I bought another USB-C dongle with separate mic and headphone jacks. It is bulkier and definitely has limited frequency response though the headphone jack. This, on the other hand, is as small as it could possibly be, and produces flawless audio with no hiss. That's impressive, given that this obviously isn't an exotic digital-to-analog chip set, and the device is so inexpensive.

This comes as a two part device. It is a very good sounding TRS plug-in-power mic, and an inexpensive USB audio dongle with an input and a headphone output. It is NOT a TRRS device (which I think it said it was somewhere), and a trrs is only generally used for something with both a headphone and a mic. The mic sounds very good, any self noise well below the living room background noise, good sensitivity. I used it with a handheld recorder which supplies about 2.5 volts, which is required by this condenser mic. I suspect that the ring on the TRS plug is not connected to anything, just there to avoid contact with something that could cause a problem. On this windows 7 computer, the USB device did not work, and I was not going to use it anyway, so I am only reporting on the microphone. I did not troubleshoot the USB dongle, could have been a reboot or something would fix it. I suspect previous reviewer (Karen) had either a defective device, or misunderstood how to use it, or had the same trouble I had with the USB part.

I was having issues getting my older Wacom Tablet to connect with my new MBP. I had to have a dongle to connect the USB-B end to my computer. Instead of spending $300 on a new Wacom, I just spent money on a new usb-c to usb-c cable and now everything works like a charm.

You know.... I don't really mind that apple got rid of the 3.5mm Jack in favor of wireless, and then completely stopped shipping the adapter dongle with devices But I wish they would figure out how to make the Bluetooth work properly with certain devices, like if you play a video while connected to my Vehicle radio the audio is not synced to the video, I understand this is the vehicles fault but to not even have a setting to correct for that is ridiculous. Direct connections fix this and the belkin usb-c to 3.5mm cable is a far superior and durable solution than apple's easily worn out or damaged dongle

Mic, Pre-Amp, and Headphone Amp in an all-in-one package! Nice to be able to use a USB mic without the need for a separate pre-amp. Really like the headphone jack incorporated into the unit with separate gain controls for the headphone volume.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Apple products and dongle life aside, this Belkin dongle makes things a lot easier in connecting the slew of devices that I have left over from my pre usb c life. The dongle works well - I didn’t have any apple comparability issues.
