This is an essential extra to the Sony NEX-7 camera. Battery life is relatively short. A poor battery will ruin your experience with this high quality camera. Think of it as an insurance policy. Why try to save $20 when you invested $1,300 in a camera? 5 |

There were many reviews that mentioned poor battery life, loud noises and poor customer service. Fortunately, I haven't needed customer service. I find the device quiet and it worked as advertised. It was a bit of a learning curve to figure out, although they have good how-to video's. They just leave out a few things you need to figure out for yourself. Sony's require special menu settings as described in their documents available on their website. I like it a lot. 5 |

As every sony a7s owner I have problems dealing with poor battery life. This system works perfect for using external batteries with the camera and stop suffering for ridiculous battery life. 5 |

You've read the reviews - Poor battery-life. Well, if the camera is doing anything smart, it uses power. A spare battery doesn't cost that much, and works great, no matter how many shots the other battery did before it suddenly ran out of charge. 5 |

The Olympus E-M5II has poor battery life; for a day's wandering around on vacation, a BLN-1 back-up battery is required. I never buy third party batteries, which invariably do not take as much charge as the OEMs. 5 |
