New lenses are expensive, and I don't want to shell out for an unexpected repair after the warranty expires, or worse yet, have to replace it because of an accidental drop or damage. Texas repair center replaced the lens at no charge. I've read complaints of poor communication. I did the follow-up calls at reasonable intervals and found the communication to be just fine. Sounded more like a busy repair shop than a customer service outfit. AOK with me. Be proactive. Cons: Needs light at the tele end so pics in dim light are noisy. Aperature range limited Autofocus has some trouble with low contrast subjects.
