This was my first AM5 CPU after many years using many AM4 parts. It runs very quickly and beats my old Ryzen 7 5700x on many tasks despite having 2 less cores. It runs cool under full synthetic load at 65 C, but I am using a Thermaltake King Assassin air cooler on it. Never draws more than about 90 watts with all cores at 5100 MHz. Its a nice, low-cost introduction to the AM5 world. Now if the 7700 would just come down in price . . . 5 |

The new AM4 socket lock makes installing this chip almost too easy, to where you wonder if you missed a step. After getting my aftermarket cooler on tight and the new x570 board hooked up everything worked exactly as needed. The system ran my 3600mhz ram at proper speeds and even matched the AMD Infinity Fabric to the desired 1:1 ratio of 1800. Didn't have to even bother with tweaking any BIOS settings and a surperb upgrade thus far. Even with this being the lowest core count model on the Zen3 line my gaming and multi-tasking performance has seen a massive boost. If you aren't an intensive workload user, and just want to game and have a handful of chrome tabs open at the same time, this CPU will do you justice, especially for the price to performance ratio. 5 |

Although a bit older since AMD has already announced AM5 socket and the 7000 series processors which are even better. This is still a decent buy on sale for people on a budget looking for a well performing CPU that doesn't consume lots of power like its Intel counterparts. 5 |
