Are Condenser Mics Used For Studio Recordings

Used in both live sessions and studio, often with some heavy large cap condenser mics on fully extended telescoped arm. Performs flawlessly. 5 |

Used in a home studio to make crystal clear recordings. If you need a mic, buy this one! 5 |

Used as halo mics for theatrical performances. A very small and unnoticeable condenser, picks up sound very well. Our director and stage manager were both very happy with the difference in performance and visibility between these and our old lavs held on tie clips. 5 |

Used to combine a pair of Behringer C-2 condenser mics into a single channel, creating a wide cardioid. Much higher gain (20 dB) than using a simple dual XLR-F to XLR-M Y-cable. Only wish there was a better way to attach to a mic stand than zip ties. 5 |

Spent hours testing dozens of studio condenser mics, and the only one that sounded ever so slightly better than the AT4033 was the TLM 103. The very minor sound quality superiority of the 103 did not justify the significantly higher price. Went with the 4033 and have had absolutely no regrets. It has been a reliable studio workhorse for years of recording voiceovers, and has survived transport unscathed thanks to the sturdy case. The shock mount is another welcomed addition. You would be hard pressed to find a better sounding mic for less. 5 |

bought this for a small home project studio. Very cheap for 2 condenser mics. A/B these mics against shure sm27 condenser. Both me and my kid liked the 2020 better, felt it was clearer and more realistic sounding on both voice and acoustic guitar. The 2021 sounded thinner with less bottom end. We'll use them on drums, guitar cabinets. 5 |

I'm using an iPhone with a condenser mic to make field recordings, and it's perfect for that purpose. 5 |

I bought this Cascade Fathead ribbon mic to use along with an Ear Trumpet Lab Louise condenser mic for recording our old-time string band. I am blown away by the sound quality of our recordings. We sit in a semi-circle and have the Fathead approx. 18 inch from the center instrument and the ETL condenser mic about an arm length behind the Fathead. Our recordings now have a nice full sound and I’m not having to EQ anything, just a bit of compression to tighten up the overall sound. I would buy again and definitely recommend for mixing acoustic instruments. 5 |

I got this condenser mic for recording vocal tracks. I was truly blown away with the quality. This mic made my recordings actually sound proffesional - I would buy this mic again over a comperable $condenser mic. It also works really well recording guitars, woodwinds, other instruments, and being part of my setup for recording a drum set. This mic rocks. 5 |
