Are Mirrorless Cameras Good For Taking Hd Video

Great for both video and stills with features other mirrorless cameras lack like IBIS and really good ergonomics. Im excited about the lens roadmap Nikon released as well. Most of what I need will be out this coming year. 5 |

Using this video head with Fuji mirrorless cameras. Quality build. Very good adjustments for a smooth fluid pan and tilt. If you are looking for a well priced, very high quality built video head this is the one. 5 |

Some of the smaller mirrorless cameras are great - but sometimes you just need an SLR. I do both still photography and video. 5 |

Can't take good quality video without it. Taking pics without a strobe in shallow water is great 5 |

I've been shooting video for decades, and my move to mirrorless cameras has changed my need for my heavy old Bogen (made by Manfrotto) sticks. The VT-4000 was a Deal Zone special, but even at regular price ist is quite a value. Sturdy, well made, quick to set up. I use a cage or rig for my cameras, depending on the job, and they fit right in on this smooth, balanced head. Highly recommended 5 |

This thing is so versatile! I use it all the time for both video and photography. I wasn't sure if the 1k capacity would work well for my Canon M50 mirrorless (Joby's description says it works for "most" mirrorless cameras), but it has been perfect! I've used cheap flexible tripods before with other cameras, and have never been happy. This one is SO MUCH BETTER than anything else out there. Even with the lens adapter and using larger diameter EF lenses, it still handles the weight. The ball head is smooth and easy to operate. You know when it's tight and can have confidence in it staying put. The legs grip well, even on a slippery metal tube rail (see pic) with jagged rocks and water lurking below. Sometimes when I'm shooting run-and-gun video, I keep the GorillaPod attached with the legs angled back against my chest, and the camera strapped around my neck, and it creates decent stabilization for smooth video. I look like a nerd, but we do whatever it takes to get the shot. 5 |

I bought this to move up from the A7S iii. While cameras like the A7S and FX3 are very capable, they are built in photo-inspired bodies that are more comfortable for those that started out on DSLR or mirrorless. I have started to work a lot more in the field on bigger sets and productions, and have been feeling like I needed to move up from the A7S. The A7S/FX3 are excellent content creation cameras and travel setups, but for dedicated video work, the FX6 is king. It was an intimidating leap, with completely different menus and learning curves compared to mirrorless, but I used it on a shoot for the first time this week and it blew my mind. The ergonomics and video dedicated body design of it combined with internal variable ND are reasons enough to upgrade. I got a bit nervous watching youtubers' experience with the FX6, with most of them saying mirrorless setups are more convenient and that the FX6 slows you down. I notice more and more that youtubers tend to be brand ambassadors rather than people that actually work regularly in the field (not all of them are like this, but many are). It's very easy to say this camera isn't great when you aren't using it how it's designed to be used. If you do regular video work in the field and want a workhorse that is truly a rockstar, the FX6 is an amazing choice. I am excited to not have to rig up my mirrorless cameras anymore and use them as B cams and content creation tools where they can shine more. It is a decent learning curve coming from the mirrorless world, but it is very worth it. I also feel like I made a better investment with this camera. It feels like cinema bodies have much more longevity, where new mirrorless bodies are dropping every month. The FX6 does everything I will need for years to come. Stellar service from B&H per usual. Very happy! 5 |

I've always loved Panasonic cameras and think their S1 and S1H series is the best mirrorless video quality out there - and by quite a bit. The S5 matches that in video but in a much smaller and more compact package. The photos (like the S1 and S1H) are also amazing and are just beautiful. Panasonic colors really are on another level. I highly recommend! 5 |

I've run a bunch of these now and for mirrorless cameras, there is nothing better for me. I shoot a lot of video, but even for stills I really like how solid and quick this head is. Leveling bases are now a requirement and the CH20 is the gold standard for me. Controls are perfectly placed, knobs are exactly the right shape and size, the handle extends and collapses in just the right amounts for use and storage. I use these on most of my tripods now. I could save a few dollars on a cheaper knock-off but when these are on sale, it's a no-brainer. 5 |
